Alright, folks, it's time to kick this thing off. First, though, a couple of "rules", if you will:
  1. When you pick, post justification for your first round pick(s). Provide some detail in why you made the pick, post a picture, highlight videos, whatever. Just try to avoid putting a name down and moving on. This thread can be an education on prospects, which is good if you're an NFL fan.
  2. After you make a selection, please send a private message to the next person drafting. I would say to tag the poster, but I haven't been getting some tags. Please PM. Try to keep a beat on the thread in case someone does forget to PM.
  3. Try to check back here on the daily if you know your pick is coming soon. Quicker picks means we go deeper into the 3rd round or longer.
  4. Trades MUST be reasonable. You can discuss trades with anyone whether or not they have indicated they'd be open to it.
With that said, LFG!

Picks #5, #18, and #26 are all available. Interested in potential trade downs that will net me additional draft capital.

DeVante Parker is also hilariously available, along with most of my roster. If anyone is still interested in Josh Rosen, he can be had. A shame AZ wasn't here to make a deal and go down with that ship. :chuckle:

A quick clarification:

I will be time keeper for the picks. In the past, I have sent a PM if the pick has been on the clock for an hour or two. If you do not pick on time, I make the pick on your behalf and we move on.

Everyone who signed up for a team is expected to pick within eight waking hours, which is very reasonable. Taking the full eight hours will mean the draft won't go very far, usually picks should be prepped and take about an hour.

I have already PMed Singer24, but since he is the Bengals I probably should have faxed him.

New Orleans Saints first round pick is available. Looking to trade down to get more picks, currently hold #24 overall.

With the first pick of the RCF 2020 NFL Mock Draft.... The Cincinnati Bengals select... You guessed it

Joe Burrow, QB LSU

For a franchise that hasn't won a playoff game since 1991, they're desperate to find the signal caller that gives them the best chance to do so. He may not be the best "athlete" out of all the QB's, but he certainly played the position better than everyone in the 2019 college season. This pick is a no brainer.

@Out of the Rafters at the Q is on the clock
@Stark is on deck

It would be good if we could get through at least 2 rounds of this draft,,3 would be better but I realize that might be impossible.
I'll be ready at 17 with the Dallas pick,,,looking for help on the defensive side.

We have a trade!

The Washington Football Club (Yep, we changed our name since I took over as well) have traded the second overall pick in the 2020 draft to the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Washington Football Club, in return, will receive the following:
  1. The sixth overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft
  2. The 71st overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft
  3. The Los Angeles Chargers' 2021 First Round Pick
  4. The Los Angeles Chargers' 2022 Second Round Pick
While Washington FC loves Chase Young, we might currently have the worst roster in the entire NFL outside of Miami. One player isn't going to fix our team, so we came into this draft with the goal of keeping our #2 overall selection in the top 10 of this draft, but also adding as many additional future top-3 round picks as possible. This draft capital was too good to pass up.

@Triplethreat you're now on the clock (Someone page Tua to hurry up in the bathroom and get back on the Zoom meeting).

With the 2nd pick in the 2020 RCF Mock Draft, the Los Angeles Chargers select..... Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama

1586800450227.png

Plain and simple, the Chargers are looking for a player they can turn to as the face of their franchise after the departure of a record setting player for the franchise. They take no chances and draft the young gunslinger Tua by trading up above all other teams into the second slot to take who they believe to be that guy going forward. Despite the injury concerns, there is no question Tua is the second most talented QB in this class, with quite possibly the highest ceiling. He was surely surrounded by a ton of talent, but his uncanny ability to make multiple reads and extend plays, while still remaining one of the most efficient collegiate QB's of all time is what lands him in this slot with LA. The plan would be for Tua to sit and learn under Tyrod Taylor for a season, while the Chargers now turn their focus to landing Tua another weapon on the outside as well as shoring up the left side of their line.

Overview

Talented dual-threat quarterback with winning background, explosive production and loads of experience in high-leverage games. He may be pigeon-holed into a spread or RPO-heavy attack, but he's actually a clean fit in a pro-style attack filled with play-action and roll-outs. He has the release, accuracy and touch needed to work all three levels successfully and can become a more disciplined, full-field reader to piece the puzzle together against NFL coverages. He needs better poise when pressured, but his escapability not only moves the chains, it creates chunk plays in the air and on the ground. Teams assessing his draft value will need to sift through mounting durability concerns and decide whether he is a "face of the franchise" talent without the abundance of talent surrounding him.
Strengths
  • Fits the mold of NFL's new dual-threat quarterbacks
  • Career touchdown-to-interception ratio of 8:1
  • Sudden ball handling on RPO plays
  • Active, agile feet offer quick setups and re-sets
  • Rare upper-body twitch allows for fast release
  • Willing to sit and scan from the pocket
  • Confident throwing to windows between hashes
  • Experienced reading route combinations from play-action
  • Throws short and intermediate with repeatable accuracy
  • Has arm talent to make all the throws
  • Eyes keep safeties out of one-on-one throws to deep sideline
  • Feathery soft bucket throws to the deep boundary
  • Play-action salesman on bootlegs and deep drops
  • Improvisational pocket escapes
  • Mobility to relocate launch point or take off to move the sticks
Weaknesses
  • Short in stature with mounting durability concerns
  • Two ankle surgeries, hip surgery, broken nose and concussion as starter
  • Can improve anticipatory throws and timing
  • Failed to recognize easy throws to developing routes
  • Inconsistent squaring feet to back-side reads
  • Constricted delivery limits zip he can put on throws
  • Forces open receivers to break stride more than he should
  • Poise in and out of pocket can be spotty
  • Hurries into frenetic throws with moderate pressure at times
  • Fails to sit and finish delivery when he's going to be hit
  • Needs earlier pocket slides to stay ahead of the pressure

The Detroit Lions are on the clock, and this should make your decision a bit tougher.... @Stark
