Giddey is not afraid to shoot though, and has good spot up ability, floaters, runners etc, lol not at all the same player. Similar sized playmaker is about the only comparison. Ben is far more athletic and a better defender. Giddey is more creative and finds his teammates far better than Ben did at the same age.
I think Giddey is as close to LaMelo as you will see in this draft, and I am kind of surprised he is not getting more top 5 love as a result, except that the NBA is a 3 point dominated league, and Giddey is lacking a legit jumper and as some have indicated is about the same level of explosive athlete as Delly.

Giddey is really not very similar to Simmons...he's way more skilled, but also way less athletic. I want to re-emphasize that he missed a game due to a concussion he suffered because he literally faceplanted on a wide open dunk.

Simmons has said he won't play in the Olympics so it might open the door for Giddey to get alot more playing time. That could shoot him up draft boards.

The Draft is July 29th and the Olympics start the 25th (I think). Not sure there's time to have the Olympics influence anything.

I think they will play 3 or 4 games before the draft depending on the time change.

This past year Lonzo was 38% from 3PT on 455 attempts and 78% from the FT line.

Giddey's not at that level right now.

Hello, I am a rockets fan and I just curious what yalls thoughts are on trading away the 3rd pick? Theoretically if the rockets tried to get the 3rd pick what would it take if they didn't give up the second pick?

Would you need us to take on Loves deal and give up future picks?
Christian Wood package plus picks?

I can't speak for Koby Altman, but the Rockets have no combination of anything that would get me to give them the 3rd pick in the draft without getting the 2nd pick.

Not a chance in hell do the Cleveland Cavaliers trade their 3rd pick.

No other way to put it.

Right, they are not going to be that high in the draft, without small odds luck again in this rebuild, if the player they pick is a high floor one. But if they take a bpa again based on future expectations like Okoro they could be right back here again especially if they trade away Sexton.
