Sorry -- I was limited by the number of permitted poll responses. So when I had too many, I tried to be somewhat objective and go with stats/advanced stats. I realize that's imperfect, but there really wasn't any other objective way to choose.

As a shooting guard in Cleveland, Hughes averaged about 15 ppg, 4 rpg, and 36 apg. He was plus VORP both years, and about a -1.0 BPM. He wasn't the great defender he was advertised to be, but he was still a plus defender. He was a terrible acquisition in that he wasn't as good as advertised, and meant we couldn't get anyone else because of the money/cap space we invested in him. But in terms of his own play, I couldn't say that he was objectively as bad or worse than the guys listed in the poll. I could certainly see him objectively in the top ten in terms of "biggest disappointments", but not in terms of worst players.
Obviously our definitions vary, but Hughes is the worst SG in my opinion. I'm not complaining, I understand the restraints under which you operate.

I'm curious -- what's the argument for saying Dajuan Wagner or John Morton was a better player than Larry Hughes? Or even someone like Sasha Pavlovic, who was on the same team as Hughes but rode the bench?

They played less, were on worse teams, and did less damage than Hughes. He played 35 mpg and I honestly would have rather played Pavlovic.

As bad as his regular-season numbers were, his putrid playoff performances really seal the deal for me.

Tell you what -- Hughes was actually listed as a point guard for the Cavs in the 2007-08 season, and we don't have a full roster of point guard nominees. So, I'll add him to that poll. But you're going to have to make the case for him.

All time "stiff" and shooting guard? Has to be The Pipe right? I mean who has a more famous "stiff" than him on the Cavs?
