The bright side of having so many roster spots is your going to have young guys that don't get drafted. Hopefully the will want to play and come to Cleveland. They are going to bring that chip on their shoulder and hopefully they will be able to prove something. Granted it would have been great to get into the draft, but I think we if we can get ANY kind of depth at the PG and C positons the Cavs will be playoff bound.

I guess this is a thread mainly for the guys that didn't get drafted, and who you think would be a good fit for this team or a good person to bring in for the summer workouts...

If Luke Schensher doesn't get drafted, I'd like to see him be picked up by Cleveland. If not, he can come home to Australia and play for his home town Adelaide 36ers.

There are quite a few guys who haven't been drafted that we should look at. Of course, the draft isn't over yet..

Luke Schensher is an option. We have no centers on the roster at all, and Luke is a legitimate 7 footer who has put on a bit more muscle since college ball ended for him in March.

I dont thnk Randolph Morris got drafted. I believe he was projected to go late first/eary second round. Gilchrist could be someone we look at too.

oops, already in another thread.

Gilchrist could be worth a look but with everyone now running the Cavs talking about character that might rule him out. There are questions about his attitude and character.

There really isn't too much that went undrafted that I'd have a ton of interest in. Alan Anderson might be worth a look. I'm not that high on Morris. He's big but doesn't seem to have too much talent and should have never entered the draft this year. He's a big time project but with someone his size and at his age it could be worth a shot to see if he can develop.

I don't really like Schensher. To be honest I think he's kind of a stiff.

What is the process of picking up non-drafted players....first come, first serve? Is there a pecking order, like reverse draft position, or the team with the worst record gets the right to first refusal? Can, say, 10 teams offer the player a contract to attend camp, then that player gets his choice of where to go? Is there a max a team can offer him, therefore, making most of the contracts the same, giving him his choice of what city he wants to play in?

Any answers?

First come First serve and the player gets the choice of what team he wants so I look at it this way... 7 roster spots need filled, so they have a good chance of getting some time . PLus you got Lebron and well he's going to make ya look good so I think we'll get a lot of players to checkout... whether they are any good or not has yet to be determined

i would give Gilchrist a look in the summer league, no harm there. i wouldn't mind giving Jawad Williams or Will Conroy a look either. another guy who is questioned off the court that could be a good player is Sean Banks. who knows maybe for a guy like Gilchrist or Banks not being drafted is a wake up call and they will get their heads straight.

That's interesting - a nice spot to be in as an agent - you can play a few teams off each other to get more money - I wonder if there are caps on this or regulations.

what about jawad williams. cant believe he didnt get drafted and he played high school at st. eds. could be an option..

Should definitely look into Dwayne Jones. Great defender, Atlantic 10 DPOY. Plays both forward and center. More than surprised that he slipped through and didn't get drafted.

Draft Capsule

Sounds like exactly what we need. Prolific shotblocker, not too fat.
