Re: Pre Season Game #5 - (10/14/10) - San Antonio Spurs @ Cleveland Cavaliers (Pitt,

This is the last year on Parker's contract. He's making $2,855,769. Hmmm....

Re: Pre Season Game #5 - (10/14/10) - San Antonio Spurs @ Cleveland Cavaliers (Pitt,

I love the rebounding too. Have we lost the rebounding game this preseason?

Maybe not, but do not get used to that statistic being in our favor unless Hickson improves drastically as a rebounder.

This is definately a more likeable team than we have been used to the last few years. This is more like your standard cavs team ok with a few interesting players play hard not on national tv the cavs will make it happen and rally 2 by 2. I could have fallen asleep in 1978 and woken up and would have pretty much said this is the cavs. Once joe tait gets back life will be normal.

9 boards in just 24 mins for JJ tonight. 9 against Dallas in just 19 minutes, 11 against Houston in 25 minutes, 8 against Washington in 25 minutes and 9 against the Bobcats in 27 minutes. Hopefully he keeps it up once the regular season starts.

If Hickson could keep up that kind of rebounding production I would freak out. Hell, I'd be happy if he could improve to 9 rebounds per36.

Yeah, for Hollins to keep his rebounding up would be really amazing. He is like the worst 7 foot rebounder in the league. Maybe he has made the jump. JJ was a good rebounder in college, so I think any of his problems have basically been technique.

Re: Pre Season Game #5 - (10/14/10) - San Antonio Spurs @ Cleveland Cavaliers (Pitt,

Very impressed with this Cavs team! Everyone is getting in on the fun and contributing one way or another. What's even better is that the younger guys are stepping up and showing they can play well as a team without the veteran help from Parker and Jamison. I cannot wait until the regular season starts. If the Cavs continue to play with swagger they will quickly quiet the doubters.

Next up to be impaled by the Cavaliers swords... Moscow!

Re: Pre Season Game #5 - (10/14/10) - San Antonio Spurs @ Cleveland Cavaliers (Pitt,

You guys are funny. Some of you guys just 2 weeks ago were predicting a 20 win team, demanding a tank job, and worrying about years of mediocrity. And now you're acting so surprised by their strong showing. This is a good team. Remember that this team won 66 and 61 games over the past 2 years, with some very poor coaching, lots of broken offense, and one star player. Take away the star player, create a better offensive system, and bring in a coach that can maximize his players, we still got a solid team. We still have depth. We still have a great organization. We still have great fans. We still have a nice mix of veterans and young talent. And most importantly, with the subtraction of the star player and the addition of a good coach, we now have a team that will play together as a team - win and lose. (No one's leaving this team whining that they didn't have enough talent to win)

I wrote extensively comparing this team to the Bucks of last year. They're gonna play hard, play tough, lose some tough ones, and develop as the year goes on. Sure, they're nowhere close to competing with the top teams in this league, but they're no way a 20 win team. They're a team that can surprise, depending on how everything falls into place...and yes, it's gonna be a fun year.

wow, 4-1 baby!!

Re: Pre Season Game #5 - (10/14/10) - San Antonio Spurs @ Cleveland Cavaliers (Pitt,

The competition in the regular season is going to be a lot tougher, no doubt. I am not predicting any kind of playoff seeding. However, it looks like these guys have a lot of room to grow. The system does indeed seem to help these guys get good high % shots. Boobie sounded fantastic last night, and he had a nice number of assists. I do really wonder how the rebounding is going to shake out. Right now we have been handily beating everyone in rebounding with our bigs stepping up, and guys like Sessions getting more than his fair share. Hope they can keep these positives up.

Re: Pre Season Game #5 - (10/14/10) - San Antonio Spurs @ Cleveland Cavaliers (Pitt,

Playoff seeding?

Top teams: Heat, Boston, Orlando
Tier 1 teams : Milwaukee, ATL, Chicago
Teams fighting for last two spots: Charlotte, New York, Philly, Indy, Toronto, and Cavs

I think Charlotte will have a spot locked up. New York and Philly will be alot tougher this year. I really don't want to be an 8th seed regardless, but I guess it's possible.

Re: Pre Season Game #5 - (10/14/10) - San Antonio Spurs @ Cleveland Cavaliers (Pitt,

I think we all are going to miss watching this team win 60+ games.
We are going to see about 10-20 more L's this year, that is going to suck.

I see about 40-45 wins coming with this roster.

Mo, Sessions, JJ, AV is going to be a fun lineup to watch and see gel over the course of the season. But the talent after that screams inconsistent and under .500.

Can't disagree there, but at least it won't be while watching a wide opened mouth potato stare at a LeIso hoping he can be the hero and put up the 1 point win to spare us from another loss that we should have won by 20.

Re: Pre Season Game #5 - (10/14/10) - San Antonio Spurs @ Cleveland Cavaliers (Pitt,

I will have a hell of a lot more fun watching this team win 40, 30, or 20 games than years' past teams winning 60 games.
