Preseason Game #5 | 76ers @ Cavaliers, 7:30 PM (ET)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Damn good way to take away the steam. Not really though we know it means nothing, but LBJ played like 10mins less than he would in a real game.

Our team, especially the second unit, did very well. Looks like Z is alright, and Andy continues to impress me this preseason. Also, it's nice to have Delonte back! Let's hope he can continue to produce like this over the course of the season. I still want to see how the team runs with LeBron and Mo playing the majority of the minutes. I thought tonight would be the night, but Mo got ejected in a jiffy. Oh well, always next game.

It concerns me that we were down by so many points in the fourth with Brand and Dalambert not playing. I'm not nearly as excited by this win as i was five minutes ago before i read the summary. It is easy to play well against a team that has two of its best players on the bench.

And then you look and see that we too, didn't have our best players in (LBJ and Mo) during the fourth quarter, and you realize everything is alright.

So Miller threw the basketball at Mo because he was salty that Mo had drawn a charge on him. Come on Miller, you're better than that........

And Mo is the one to get ejected? Gotta love the NBA. :chuckles:

Thats true, i forgot about Mo getting ejected, that makes me feel a tad better.

Sasha +24
Wally -16

So there is a +40 differential when Sasha is on the court compared to Wally. :chuckles:

In all seriousness though West certainly put his hand up. I still like him as the 6th man, but if he starts I'm still quite happy.

Certainly nice to get the monkey off our back with a win.

Sasha is showing his terrible offensive play from last year was not a fluke. Please anyone but sasha the 2.. I'd rather play AV at the 2..

I realize Delonte is the best out of the 3 guys trying to get that starting spot, but do you really think he can guard a lot of opposing STARTING 2 guards? Just using tonight as an example, Iguodala would torch him. I think he is best suited coming off the bench.

that was sick i also like delonte's pass to kinsey that was nice

I'm glad to see Andy in so many highlights, and to see Ben hustling.

But I wish Sasha would just get into a groove and be what we need, a wing defender who can hit an open shot.

I was at the game, i was pissed when mo got ejected, i really wanted to see him play. What a come back, i was prety hype when we won the game.

How about Hot Buttered Donald hitting 5 three pointers? Where was that in CLE

Awesome performance by West. I'm on board with those who say he should start at SG

There's no groove coming...The fact of the matter is Sasha Pavlovic is not a good basketball player whatsoever...I don't get it, I just don't understand what some see in this cat ??

He had one decent 3 or 4 month stretch in 5 years of NBA basketball, and once teams got to see what he was about, he was easily neutralized from the opposition after he went around the league once... He can't shoot, he has a below average outside shot, he has no mid range game, he can't handle the ball, can't slash all that well, can't dribble pull up and is a mentally weak player...The only thing I like about this guy is he has the size to be a nice defender (when he decides he wants to be).. Outside of that, he's a fringe NBA caliber player that for whatever reason constantly jumps off the wrong foot on his dunks...

There's not going to be this epiphany with the guy where he just all of a sudden becomes a solid player and regular contributor.... He's just not any good...He'll show flashes here and there, but that's not going to get it done... Hell, at this point, I would kill if he'd become a Ron Mercer type...

Just wish some damn Europe team would have offered him a boat load of cash...

Late rally leads Cavs past Philadelphia, 100-93

CLEVELAND (AP) Daniel Gibson made the go-ahead basket with 1:22 left, and the Cleveland Cavaliers rallied for their first preseason victory, 100-93 over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night.

Trailing 91-80 with 4:14 left, the Cavaliers finished the game on a 20-2 run.

Sasha Pavlovic's 3-pointer cut the lead to 93-92 to go. Gibson drove to the basket on Cleveland's next possession, made the shot and was fouled. He missed the free throw, leaving the lead at one.

After a turnover, Anderson Varejao's basket in the lane gave Cleveland a 96-93 lead with 46 seconds left. The 76ers missed a 3-pointer, which led to a fast-break basket by J.J. Hickson with 29 seconds left. Delonte West's two free throws capped the comeback.

Cleveland is 1-4 while Philadelphia fell to 3-2.

Andre Iguodala scored 17 points for Philadelphia and Donyell Marshall added 15 on 5-of-6 3-pointers.

LeBron James scored 16 points in 26 minutes.

The game was played with an intensity usually reserved for the regular season. Cleveland's Mo Williams and Philadelphia's Andre Miller were assessed double technicals midway through the first quarter. Williams was given a second technical and ejected by referee Sean Corbin 19 seconds later.

Cleveland center Zydrunas Ilgauskas, who had 17 points, was given a technical in the third quarter. West was assessed a flagrant foul in the second quarter and players from both sides dove to the floor several times to grab loose balls.

Williams' ejection brought a quick end to coach Mike Brown's plan to play his starting five into the second half. Williams, a key offseason acquisition from Milwaukee, is expected to provide vital help for James.

James played 17 minutes in the first half and nine in the third quarter. Brown had Ilgauskas, Ben Wallace and Pavlovic, who all started, on the floor in the fourth quarter.

West was away from the team Oct. 4-15. He said Friday he had been dealing with depression and a mood disorder. He scored 17 points.

Philadelphia played without forward Elton Brand, whose wife gave birth to a baby Thursday, and center Samuel Dalembert (sprained right knee).

Cavaliers rookie forward Darnell Jackson, who helped Kansas to the national title last season, is out indefinitely with a fractured left wrist.

Sasha Pavlovic's 3-pointer cut the lead to 93-92 to go.

Wait!! Pavlovic hit a shot that mattered?!?! Oh, it's preseason so it really doesn't matter.

Sounds like the Scrubaliers got a game off and we actually finished a game with our bench.

Mo better get his act together, 'cause if West keeps putting up near triple doubles he's going to take his job.
