AV did NOT develope a jump shot in the offseason (wave that 10 mill. bye-bye)...

One bad performance from a preseason game, and you're already coming to that conclusion? He looked pretty good against Philly the other night, didn't he score like 15 points, a few off some 15 foot jumpers? I wouldn't worry about one bad preseason game.

I didn't see that game...but I saw his jumper 3 times and it was ugly...I was also attempting to be somewhat amusing. Hey, I hope I am wrong.

AV played very well the last couple of preseason games before this one, his jumper will not be on all the time. He is not a natural shooter/scorer, but from what i saw in other games he has definitely worked on it.

Andy shot perfectly in 1 of the past couple games (probably the one he scored 15 in). It's wise to base someone's entire season off of a little more than just 3 shots that you saw. He'll definitely not be a stud by any means on the offensive end, but I do think his jumper and overall scoring ability improved enough to see an increase in points this season.

can someone give me a summary of the game because i didnt get to watch it or listen to it

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Rodney Stuckey scored 20 points, Tayshaun Prince added 17 points and the Detroit Pistons capitalized on LeBron James' absence to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 97-79 in a preseason game Wednesday night.

James went through pregame warm ups before taking a planned day off. The Cavaliers play their final exhibition Friday against the Wizards.

Detroit, which finishes the preseason with another home game Thursday against Atlanta, got 15 points from Richard Hamilton to improve to 6-1.

Cleveland (2-5) was led by Daniel Gibson's 16 points, while Mo Williams had 14 and Wally Szczerbiak added 12.

The game was 40-40 at the half, with Williams' 14 points keeping Cleveland in the game, but the Pistons pulled away in the third quarter.

Detroit outscored the Cavaliers 28-16, thanks to six Cleveland turnovers and 11 points from Prince.

Closing in on the start of the regular season, both teams stayed with their normal rotations until midway through the fourth quarter, when Detroit led by 15.

Second-year Pistons center Cheikh Samb drew one of the few cheers of an uneventful fourth quarter when the 7-footer hit a 3-point attempt.

The final 0.7 seconds were played on a floor covered with streamers after the arena workers mistakenly thought the game had ended on a Detroit 24-second violation.

Watching JJ play he has some lightning quickness. He is like a PF with SG type quickness. That is going to cause so many problems for other teams. Once he understands how to play in the NBA and uses his quickness to his advantage he is going to be a monster.

JJ was very fast from what I saw. He didn't do to well though from the parts I saw.

Well it was easy to see JJ is going to struggle on defense..man he snapped up four fouls in the first half?

Yea he was too aggressive defensively at times, 1 or 2 of the fouls were little chippy fouls. Like one where he just laid out Billups when he was going around a screen and i think he had another foul fighting for position.

But imo he is ready to give us atleast 15 mpg, he doesn't really seem to hurt us when he is on the court. Offensively he needs to be more aggressive when he gets the ball under the basket. He got the ball a few times last night deep in the post and gave like 3 or 4 up fakes and got blocked every time. He just needs to go straight up for the shot right when he gets the ball that deep down there. Playing with Bron will help him too, Lebron gets people a lot of easy buckets. But he is still learning, overall i like what i have seen from him so far in the preseason considering he is still very raw and only 19-20 yrs old.

JJ's putback dunk was #1 on ESPN's Top 10.
ya i saw that this morning. that was a sick dunk and mo got like 7th or something when he went between someones legs then dished it to wallace for the lay-up

BTW... this is the first time I've gotten to see Mo, and I'm impressed.

I remember watching the Bucks games and wishing we had him, this is great.

This is because Mo Williams absolutely torched the Cavs last year. His numbers against the cavs were by far the most impressive of any teams he played against.

I dunno if anyone is watching it, but Mo looks like he is working hard on defense in my opinion. Negating the rumors that he is a 'terrible' defender.

yup trying hard defensively makes you a good defender. :thumbdown Wally tries his butt off but still is not good.
