Pro wrestler Chris Benoit and his family found dead at residence

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Phil Hartman's wife did it.
I guess people assume that because you have money, you have nothing to be sad about.
If that is true, how in the hell can you be that cold to kill a child?
I was thinking that it could have been a murder/suicide, but then agin, you don't know if it was Nancy or Chris.... but I'm still gonna hold out some hope that it was not a murder/suicide. That's just too terrible to grasp.

The biggest question that I have now is...
Now knowing that he allegedly killed his family and then himself... How could the WWE put on a 3 hour tribute to him?
Now maybe they didn't know all the details by the time the show aired, but if they did know, that is complete B.S. to sit up there and say "It was an honor to be in the ring with him."

I understand we all have stress, and I believe that when the toxicology report comes back, there will have been some drugs in his system. You can't tell me that someone who's not on drugs just ups and kills their family. Bren Hartman had coke and alcohol in her system when she killed Phil Hartman.

This just sickens me to a new level. And I'm sure as new information becomes available, it'll just get more outrageous.

I'm not shocked they could piece it together so quickly, I'm shocked they are doing it so quickly. If it turns out he was somehow responsible...you know what I mean? I don't know...maybe they know more facts than we do. I guess I'm wondering if they should've waited a bit.

So he did it. This was my whole point. I haven't watched wrestling in years but when I heard of his family dying I turned it last night and saw 30 minutes of this 3 hour tribute. Everyone crying and saying what an incredible guy he was. He, his wife and little boy smiling in a photo on the bottom of the screen. This asshole doesn't deserve a funeral let alone the wonderful 3 hour tribute he got last night. WWE jumped the gun putting that on last night.:thumbdown

Couples fight...they feel rage towards each other...unfortunately it happens all the time. But, what it the name of God could trigger him to kill his 7 year old son too??? It sickens me to think what was going through that poor boy's mind while his own father was killing him.

Burn in hell Chris...

I actually felt bad about some of what i said, but now, this guy was a low life, taking your sons life? denying an innocent kid of life because of your own problems? thats so wrong in so many ways and there is no justifying it. Disgusting what kind of scum lives among us.

What a selfish ahole....I heard on Rover that he was rumored to be on heroine and surprise surprise roids.

Im not going to bash a guy during his death especially when it's bullshit, that's totally classless.

Get a ****ing clue, look it up. They hand out suspensions and release people all the time for drug use.

Stop talking out of your ass, especially at a time like this. How are you going to mock a guy on his death when you dont have a damn clue what happened.

Get your head out of your ass.

James you're being pretty insensitive about the whole thing. 3 lives were lost..regardless of whether the guy was an accountant, garbageman or WWE Wrestler it should have no bearing.

Which is why it's better to just shut the hell up until you know what happened. You came across like this guy kicked your family pet and spit in your grandmas face. If he did poison his family then he's a terrible person for it..if not and it's not through his fault then you really sound like a jackass.

i felt bad that i heard he died, and now i find out that this happens.. I really don't care..

even on wwe.com still they show career highlights after they know what he has did.. crazy

Wow, just a terrible situation. And as Max said, another highly questionable move by WWE airing the tribute last night. I watched pieces of it and actually felt bad for the guy. Now reading this makes me sick to my stomach:

Wrestler, family dead
Bodies of Benoit, wife and son discovered in Ga. home
Posted: Monday June 25, 2007 9:24PM; Updated: Tuesday June 26, 2007 9:49AM

Pro wrestler Chris Benoit canceled a pay-per-view appearance at the "Vengeance" event in Houston because of "personal reasons" a day before he, his wife and their 7-year-old son were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide.

Details of the deaths "are going to prove a little bizarre" when released to the public, Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Autopsies were scheduled Tuesday by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in DeKalb County.

Authorities were investigating the deaths at a secluded Fayette County home as a murder-suicide and were not seeking any suspects.

Investigators believe Benoit, (pronounced ben-WAH) killed his wife and son over the weekend and then himself sometime Monday. The bodies were found Monday afternoon in three different rooms of the house on Green Meadow Lane, in a subdivision off a gravel road about two miles from the Whitewater Country Club.

Ballard told The Associated Press a gun was not used in any of the deaths. But he declined to say how the three died.

"We're pretty sure we know, but we want to confirm it with the crime lab," Ballard said early Tuesday.

Fayette County Coroner C.J. Mowell did not return phone calls. The answering service for his funeral home said he was out of town.

World Wrestling Entertainment said on its Web site that it asked authorities to check on Benoit and his family after being alerted by friends who received "several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning."

Sheriff's Lt. Tommy Pope told WSB-TV that the three were found about 2:30 p.m., but he wouldn't release other details.

Stamford, Conn.-based WWE also said on its Web site it had been asked by authorities not to release further information on the deaths of Benoit, 40; his wife, Nancy, 43; and son, Daniel.

Benoit was born in Montreal. He was a former world heavyweight champion, Intercontinental champion and held several tag-team titles over his career. He was known by several names including "The Canadian Crippler."

"WWE extends its sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Benoit family's relatives and loved ones in this time of tragedy," the company said in a statement on its Web site.

Benoit had maintained a home in metro Atlanta from the time he wrestled for the defunct World Championship Wrestling.

The WWE canceled its live "Monday Night RAW" card in Corpus Christi, Texas, and USA Network aired a three-hour tribute to Benoit in place of the scheduled wrestling telecast.

Benoit's wife managed several wrestlers and went by the stage name, "Woman," The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

They met when her then-husband drew up a script that had them involved in a relationship as part of an ongoing story line on World Championship Wrestling, the newspaper said.

Benoit has two other children from a prior relationship.

I saw a couple of interviews during the tribute last night and I felt awkward about the whole thing, because it all (the fact that his whole family was dead) seemed suspect to me. And I kept wondering, would they all be saying this if he was guilty of killing them?
They all seemed to have difficulty finding the right words to say to sing his praises.
Benoit didn't seem like a friendly individual.

And knowing that the details of the deaths are "bizarre" , scares me. I just hope whatever he did, his son and wife died instantly. But I somehow am having doubts just because of the wording by the District Attorney's quotes.

I also read that there was no gun involved, and that he killed his wife on Saturday and son on Sunday. Therefore, the POS may have used his hands to kill the both of them, then, after digesting the dispicible act he just committed, took his own life.
