Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I took a break from watching DS9 to finally watch Kill Bill vol 1 and 2 while they are free on Apple TV+. Those have been on my list to watch for a while.

Movies are good, but were oddly filmed. Styles kept changing and told in a totally different order than things happened. I guess some of that was necessary.

I didn't get why they beeped out her name most of the movie. I don't think the question is a spoiler, but answer maybe needs to be in spoiler tags.

I watched Field of Dreams (one of my favorite movies) last week. I told my co-worker about it the next day. (I work remote)... She was like, 1989 whoa... I was not even born yet... I laughed so hard...

That's the weird thing about growing older. So many events that are points of reference in my life are before a lot of people were born. I remember when people waited in line for hours and hours to see Jaws. What an experience it was to see Purple Rain on opening night. Seeing Raiders and Poltergeist before seeing even a preview. All I knew is Raiders was about an archeologist, that sounded boring. Last summer I watched Jurassic Park with my grandkids on a random night. That feels like a recent movie to me. I was shocked to discover it was the 30th anniversary and was playing in theaters that very night for the anniversary. Had I known, we would have gone to the theater. My oldest son, their dad, was 30 when we were watching.

So many technologies people take for granted didn't exist yet, personal computes, Internet, Cell Phones, cable tv, etc. Even color tv didn't exist until after I was born. We had 5 channels and it was a big deal when a 6th came to our area. And now today technology is moving so fast it's nearly impossible to keep up. I've always been a technology person, the level of change that took years to happen in the past happens every week these days.

Watching Chronicles of Riddick for the first time. This movie is terrible :chuckle:
The original movie was mediocre, wasn't sure why folks got interested enough for it to generate a follow up. The 00s were a fucked up time, Vin Diesel's nerdy ass somehow garnered this devout following.

Have you ever seen a Taratino movie lol

Can't believe they're making 5. 4 failed and wachowskis hated continuing already

Godzilla X Kong 6.9/10
Everything bad about the first one x10 in this. Annoying, boring characters with no depth or anything to do from a character standpoint and an acting one. Weak villain, lame boring slo no action. A kong who spends more time on his back than being a king. Very weak entry. 05 Kong even though it’s smaller would wreck this kong. Godzilla is powerful when he needs to be and lethal and just a big dumb guy with no fight IQ when he needs it.

I saw Civil War last night. I’ll avoid spoilers but I’ll say, worth seeing in a theater, but maybe at a matinee price. I think you want the theater experiences for the sound and tension. Idk, 7/10?

I really liked the first 1.5 hours, didn’t love the ending, that’s why I give it a 7. But it was well done in the sense that it wasn’t political, but did a great job putting you right in the what if scenario.

Jesse Plemons….amazing.

Cool - been avoiding even previews because I’m avoiding overtly political stuff right now

you have to forget all of that, and the inconsistencies with the series, and the inconsistencies with physics, and even the inconsistencies with itself, and just enjoy the action. It's a popcorn move.

The series is better.

That said, next up for me for Godzilla is to watch Godzilla Minus One and watch one where they apparently get the story right.

Godzilla Minus One should have at least gotten a Best Picture nomination and arguably should have won. Definitely was best picture pound for pound via the budget

Have you seen anything on any streaming platform? Really frustrated that I can’t find it.

Oh, I assumed it was streaming somewhere. At least to buy. But I guess there is a contractual restriction in Legendary's licensing agreement with them. They own Godzilla, licensed English language rights to legendary, profit off of the legendary releases. So sounds like they won't release it to streaming in the US for a while. They even pulled it from US theaters early because Godzilla x Kong was coming out.
