Remembering Prince

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Good god almighty, what a sad day.

Johnny 8Ball better look around, he may be the next celebrity.

This one really hurts. Bowie was hard because my son (8) had just fallen in love with his music and bought some albums JUST before he passed. This one is harder on me. Soundtrack of my 10-25s was 30% Prince.

devastating.

man, just thought about the boozer-prince story. so great, and one of many. i would never get tired of listening to or reading prince stories.

The article is backwards. He had the emergency landing after the concerts in Atlanta. On the way back. He was seen driving his motorcycle the next day. My guess is his flu turned into pneumonia.

Some speculation that its AIDS and he stopped taking his medication for it recently and declined in health pretty rapidly.

Prince had been touring, doing 2 shows a night and following some of them with an after show. That's not what someone with declining health does. 2 weeks ago he canceled with the flu. I never get sick, I got this years flu and it took forever to get over and mine turned into bronchitis.

I guess the article was right after all. He has a concert in Minneapolis the day after the emergency landing. I'm on vacation so I didn't hear about that one. I would have gone to the concert in Atlanta had it been a couple of days earlier. I had been watching for the resheduled date. Was going to go later this year. Still can't believe the news.

Tears go here...

There's evidence Prince's death was not unexpected, because we've learned the superstar started writing his memoirs just a month ago.

Sources connected with Prince tell us, they were surprised he started the project ... something he had been mulling over for years but not acting upon. We're told he had finished around 50 pages at the time of his death.

What's more ... last Saturday night, after Prince was admitted to a hospital for what his reps called the flu, he addressed a crowd at Paisley Park near his home and said, "Wait a few days before you waste any prayers."

Whatever was ailing Prince, it was serious enough to sideline him several weeks ago from doing 2 shows, and it clearly lingered because he had to make an emergency landing last Friday, just 48 minutes from his home.

Our sources say Prince was upset the news got out that he had been hospitalized, and feared people would think he was already dead.

Aretha is speculating Zika virus.
They found him on an elevator, so i assume he was up and walking around unaccompanied. I bet it was an epileptic seizure.

Prince could do pretty much anything, best known for his guitar, he was getting consistently rave reviews for his what was current "Piano and Microphone" tour. That was a great guitar solo.

I was hardly old enough to remember his prime, but I'm irrationally sad.

Sad day. Wasn't a huge fan of all of his music, but as a fellow guitar player, he had some of the best technical skills i've seen and his soloing was always full of soul....Truly, an innovator and masterfully dedicated to his craft. RIP

And pieces of my youth keep disappearing.

The man was always capable of putting out incredible music even when you thought everything and everyone passed him by. His live performances are legendary.

That video above of While my guitar gently weeps, everyone on stage knew it was Prince's world, they were just living in it and loving that moment.

RIP indeed
