Remembering Prince

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think Prince didn't so much as die as he simply got bored with us and decided to leave.

The man played 27 separate instruments on his first album. If he had been born in earlier times he would have been worshipped as a diety.

I think his epilepsy may have returned after 47 years. He had bad epilepsy as a child but it suddenly went away; something he attributed to divine intervention. It could have returned just as suddenly.

It would explain why he seemed fine, but suddenly had to cancel concerts or having an emergency landing to be rushed to the hospital a mere 48 minutes from home, only to seem ok a day afterwards. Could also explain why he was seen frequenting Walgreens since arriving back in Minnesota. Seizures can kill.

PRINCE TREATED FOR DRUG OVERDOSE DAYS BEFORE DEATH

Prince was treated for a drug overdose 6 days before his death ... multiple sources tell TMZ.

We broke the story ... Prince's private jet made an emergency landing in Moline, Illinois last Friday, hours after he performed in Atlanta. At the time his reps said he was battling the flu ... something we questioned because his plane was only 48 minutes from home before the unscheduled landing.

Multiple sources in Moline tell us, Prince was rushed to a hospital and doctors gave him a "save shot" ... typically administered to counteract the effects of an opiate.

Our sources further say doctors advised Prince to stay in the hospital for 24 hours. His people demanded a private room, and when they were told that wasn't possible ... Prince and co. decided to bail. The singer was released 3 hours after arriving and flew home.

We're told when Prince left he "was not doing well."

We know authorities in Minnesota are trying to get the hospital records from Moline to help determine cause of death.

We have made more than a dozen attempts to reach Prince's reps for comment, but they went radio silent.

Despite his oddness, I never took him for a heavy drug user.

He was a vegan and purportedly fanatical about healthy living.

For the longest time Seven was my favorite Prince song. And it's one of the few Prince songs all of my kids actually like (along with Dolphin and Batdance). I'm not sure I can name a specific favorite right now because there are so many great ones. Seven was a sleeper for me when I first got that album. It took a while for it to stand out.

Perhaps the longest sleeper for me was Pink Cashmere. It was on the Hits/B-Sides album, I heard it a few years later and didn't realize I even had the song. Now it's in my top tier.

Lately Computer Blue has been a favorite.

Reddit has some good stuff on Prince right now..

I guess he would watch bulls playoff games while on stage

I really liked his sexytime slow jams, helped me lay a lot of pipe in the 90's... but his dance music was unparalleled. There's an unwritten rule with 1980s and 1990s rockers: you can have rock cred, or you can make pop music that makes the panties drop. You weren't allowed to do both unless you were a genius. Prince, P-Funk, and very few others could do both. Then he goes and sues the record companies for full control of his art, loses over a decade of his prime years... and wins.

And he rocked jheri curl.

Just across the board genius.
