He had a bad rep here, much of which was un-deserving. But tonight, you have to respect his game.

I love his game, he is one of the most talented players and plays with a ton of heart.

He had another amazing game tonight, playing with in the offense just like he did back his old Cavalier days and played an outstanding game.

He deserves respect.

Doc Rivers calls him the "new Ricky Davis." He's still mostly the same guy but Davis has improved his basketball IQ and attitude a little since leaving the Cavaliers. While he worked hard with us, Ricky is earning more "Tommy points" with the Celtics. I wish him the best in his career.

yeah ok whatever. im not going to go out of my way to give him respect, but he is a solid player. hes doing his thing in boston and things are working out for him.

Respect blah. He has turned himself into a good player now but one day he'll wake up and realize that if he had got his act together earlier he would have played a decade with Lebron James. Imagine the respect he would have had then.

Goodbye and good riddance Ricky Davis: hello Larry Hughes

I agree with pioneer!! When ricky was here he was a "street baller" and that was all, now that he has matured(took him long enough) he should be respected? Ricky has crazy talent, but he will always be that "street baller" with a little more maturity.

Ricky had found himself a nice home in Boston and I always liked him. However i am much happier with Larry Hughes as im sure everybody else here is.

I always thought Ricky had a good heart but had a lot of growing up to do. I say that about some people until they surpass middle age. At least Ricky figured it out when he was only 26. Being disgustingly rich typically helps the maturation process, but then again look at Rodman and Hefner.

He is a steal at just under 5 million per year, but who knows if he would have put it all together like this if he remained a Cavalier? He still turns the ball over too often and takes nights off defensively, but coaches can finally run an offense thorugh him for the first time and not have dramatic lead swings. As a Cavalier and even his first two years as a Celtic, Ricky played the same if he was 10 points up or 10 points down. Not so anymore.

Overall I have to say he has come into his own.

Ricky "Cleveland is a Black Hole" Davis = TRASH!

Why do you make such stupid threads? "LeBron is the 'STUPIDEST' player in the NBA", "Rispect Ricky Davis".

Why so? Ricky is trash. He is a "me first player". He was not happy when LeBron came here. Then when he got traded, he said "Cleveland is a black hole." He got the heat he deserved. He could have said that something like "I hated being a Cavalier", but no. He dissed the whole Cleveland city.

Lets not also forget the part when Ricky shot the ball at his own hoop, missed on purpose, so he could get the 10th rebound that he needed for his Tripple Double. TRASH.

Now him being is Boston is perfect. Because now I can hate both him and Paul Pierce at the same time.

Remember last year's preseason game again the Celtics, where Paul Pierce spit in the direction of the Cav's bench. Then they had a fight after the game. Those two are trash players.

How about today when both of them would almost kill Larry or LeBron when they went for a dunk. A Foul is ok, but what they did was awefull. They almost killed LH or LBJ.

I hope this thread gets trashed like ur last one.

Hughes is the total package not a one dimensional player like Davis!!

Speaking of respect... here's a bit of trivia I didn't know before:

"(Doc) Rivers admired new murals of former Cleveland All-Stars painted on the walls outside the locker rooms and wondered why their wasn't a portrait of his uncle, Boston assistant Jim Brewer, who played for the Cavs in the 1970s. "He should be up there," said Rivers, well versed in Cavs' history. Rivers even named his second son, Austin James, after Cavs great Austin Carr and Brewer."

Ricky has become a better player.

BUT
They still lost by 20+. He had three costly turnovers when they got back in the game.
And he plays defense about half the time.

Truth you crack me up. Congrats, he will end up the second leading scorer on a team that will probably win 38 games. Congratulations!!! Respect Darius too!!!

How efficient was he though?

Ricky Davis is a talented baller again playing on a non playoff team where he can do his thing without the big pressures of playoff ball. He has matured and good on him for that. People will always hold a grudge for many reasons with Ricky much of which he has only himself to blame. I personally dont really care, but I always appreciate it when people turn it around.

I think that's why he still has the Satan beard going on, it's a mask for his pain of blowing his chance with The King. Woo hoo! And Z becoming an All-Star after he left.:yay:

law law law, how ignorant you really are.

First of all, the post was called, Lebron Dumbest Player in NBA? And when it comes to the fourth quarter, he is up there. Ive made that thread about 20 times now, it's obviously the guy isnt the smartest man in the world when it comes to decision making with the game or the clock on the line.

How is Ricky a me first player? He led the Cavs in assists one year I believe, he has avg over 5 APG three of the last four years, hmm...me first? Name me one me first player that get's that many assists. But you are right...me first, lol...sure buddy.

Cleveland basketball for a long time was a black hole, his statements werent wrong. They werent the best thing to say, but he certainly wasn't wrong. So if you are mad at him for speaking the truth about the situation, then thats your choice to be ignorant.

Do you think Kobe Bryant is a trash player??...ill come back to this when you answer..

And not once did any body on either team try to kill anybody. No flagerents or techs were called in the game, so exactly how was it trying to kill somebody? Get a clue moron.

and somebody said Ricky was a streetball player when he was here....WRONG.

That basically shows you are a Lebronalier and not a Cavs fan. Ricky is the SAME EXACT player he is now that he was when he was here. Attitude wise he has grown up, but his game is exactly the same. So please, watch the game and learn something before you speak..

He could have played a decade with Lebron pioneer, but what has that got to prove? He has been here for two years, and we have yet to make the playoffs. We havent won anything yet, time will tell if that is a good statement or not. Who played next to Clyde Drexler? Dominque? John Stockton? Playing next to a great player doesnt make your career. Paul Perice is a fine player in his own right, just being next to Lebron is a baseless statement. When we win, then maybe he will second guess it. But we have to fight for a championship, nothing is giving.

And Karma...how can you say that? Who was in the playoffs last year? Was the pressure off his back then? That was one of the dumbest comments from you. He played excellent last year, and did very well in the playoffs as well so what pressure should he have? He has already proven he can handle it, and perform well in a playoff hunt AND in the playoffs. Another baseless statement..

Bottom line, I made this thread because he gets bashed by Lebronaliers that know NOTHING about his game. Ignorance is bliss.

I agree with Mac to a point.. Ricky is the same player, but that player is not the right player to play with LeBron for the next 10 years..

He's talented, but it doesn't mesh..LeBron needs a player handling the ball, breaking a defense down and setting him up. Ricky imo, needs his quick pull up to be effective.. If that for whatever reason is not falling, he's useless with the excpeting of a breakaway dunk on occasion. He doesn't seem to have the ability to hurt teams in other ways.. Just my opinion.. Eventually, I think JR Smith could be on those same lines... Although, that kid has deep range and some Kobe-esqe qualities.

Also, the fact Ricky lead the team here in assist was primarily the fact of not having a PG that wasn't at the very best average.. Slick Rick handled the ball a ton, whereas Smush, Milt, Bimbo, and Dajuan were not getting it done.. But, nonetheless he did lead the team in that category for whatever that is worth ?

On onther note, I believe LeBron will eventually show that he is a cut above the players that were mentioned in the examples Stockton, Drexler, 'Nique.. In fact, two of those 3 made it to the finals, but ran into a # 23 that took them out each time.. Like LeBron, that #23 showed exceptional skills that exceeded those of the above and proved to be a huge difference.. However, he did need a sidekick who is my all time Favorite. Hence, the name...The difference imo is Cleveland might not have to weight another 8 years to get their first title like the city that was represented by that other #23 since he won his first while at the prime age of 28. For our #23 is only 20 years of age and is on the path to greatness.. With or without (Tyree Ricardo Davis)
