Ricky Rubio - Take the Money and Limp

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Okoro will get a triple double someday. I think the rebounds will be the hardest to get not the assists. He has already had several 7 assist games.

Going back to the good ol' shooting guard debate... let this guy do more than stand in the corner. He's not Shane Battier on offense, let him use picks and create.

Yeah, the coaches and players talk about how well he sees the floor, seems prime to be a playmaker if he can tighten up a few things.

It appears the Cavs are considering signing a veteran PG as a third ball handler for next year. I guess if that player can hit an outside shot, that gives us some options, especially if that person is really a combo or swing guard.

Have Fedor broke any real story like EVER…….,

Aren't one of the 17 small guard Koby brought in a possibility?

If neither Sexton nor Garland can be our PG of the future, then we might be pretty fucked. If between Sexton, Garland, and Okoro, we don't have a capable backcourt, then we have problems. And if Koby feels the need to overpay to bring in another guard because either of the first two statements I made may come into play, then I'll be pretty depressed.

Why is Garland not the PG of the future?

Yeah the article is just referring to the backup PG situation. Everyone is all in on Garland being the future at PG. Having a PG is critical to the development of everyone on the team so it's insurance in case of Rubio/Garland injury.

No clue man, in my mind he is. I took the Fedor tweet citing "the disaster at point guard last season" to be a reason to explore the market for another guard as a way of saying that what we have in the backcourt is not adequate.

I hope that's all it is. But we already have two very capable ball handlers in Rubio and Garland. And if Rubio and Garland both get hurt, it is what it is, and as a consolation prize, we'd get better sample size to evaluate a potential Sexton/Okoro backcourt. Sure, we have to eventually fill out our roster, and if Fedor is referring to looking at vet min type guys, then that's fine.

I'm just extremely wary that the FO feels the need to spend the MLE for the sake of using it. If Plan A falls through, then Plan B falls through, and Plan C sucks ass, then just do nothing.

I think this is more an indication that the team does not plan to play Sexton any point guard at all, even in backup minutes. They believe he’s firmly a 2.

Makes sense, though odd that they don't even want him doing that as a contingency plan. Thanks guys for the possible explanations though, I'm probably just reading into this too much.

Bingo.

Anybody who has an issue with the Cavs overloading at PG should have to watch an endless loop of the games where Damyean Dotson got serious run at the point.

That's what happens when you hitch your wagon to a PG that is guaranteed to miss 20 games a season.
