Round 1, Game 1 | Cavaliers vs. Pistons | April 18, 2009 | 3:00 EST ABC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Camakazee's neat-o stat of the thread.

While the last loss was under different circumstances (resting our starters, and going from regular season to post season), the Detroit Pistons should be fully aware of how the Cleveland Cavaliers respond to losses when the following game is at home:

- Record: 9-0.

- Cavaliers: 105.2 points per game.

- Opponent: 87.0 points per game.

- LeBron James (9 games): 23.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 7.4 assists in only 36.4 minutes per game.

No your eyes do not deceive. In the nine home games following a loss, the Cavaliers are undefeated, beating their opponent by an average of 18.2 points per game. Furthermore, all nine wins have been by double-digits. As I mentioned, this game comes under different circumstances, but consider the Windhorst piece and how the team reacted to last game as a real loss and we should be in for some fireworks Saturday afternoon

Man, this dude pretty much called the end result...

Anyone got a video of our playoff intro this year?

I can not believe I missed this game. I'm not missing another one.

Don't worry. It wasn't all that. And we all know what would the outcome be.

Sorry to hear that...I went to the game and the atmospere was electric.

I DVR'd the game and about to watch it again...I had quite a bit to drink today and need see what I missed even while I was there:chuckles:

I was at the game, too. Definitely a playoff atmosphere. Glad to see we have an "old rivalry" up first so we don't have to deal with uninterested fans in a fourth straight Wizards series. I was a little mad I missed player intros and the opening video, though. I was driving from school so I had about a 3 hour drive ahead of me and yesterday's partying prevented me from waking up before 11:30 :chuckles:

Luckily I got to my seats when it was 2-2, though.

You beat me there I think it was 18-10 when I got there...lol

I was sitting next to a Detroit fan. When Detroit went on the run in the 4th qtr I told him to relax and not get his hopes up. I told him it's like a superman movie, right now Superman is chained to some kyptonite. He'ss get away and get to fly home with Lois Lane in no time.

Right when they get out of the timeout Mo procedes to hit a "3"!!! To see him sink in his seat and not hear a peep out of him the rest of the game was probably the highlight of the game!!!

Time to change your status, breanna :)

That being said..

Was anybody else just not worred at all during this game? Man, it seemed like we were up by 20+ the entire game

Best stat line of the night for LeBron:

ZERO Turnovers! in 41 minutes

Yes, it was pretty much another reg season game. Which is exactly how we should approach it. In the regular season we were all about winning efficiently, and thats what this round calls for. Cold, mind numbing efficiency.

In later rounds, not so much.

Damn Pistons fans already thinking of ways to stop BRON BRON
Possible legit hard fouls that pistons could try out.

Lebron sandwich:
kwame brown should run into the lane at last minute, pretending to draw a charge. Meanwhile have maxielle going full speed in hot pursuit of lebron; on lebrons impact with kwame, maxielle should run into lebron, spearing him into kwame. Ideally big Z or varejo would be behind kwame to cushion kwame's fall.

attack him physically on the offensive end too:
shove and push lebron on the offensive end ala Rip style
On the offensive end, have maxielle or kwame do the Rip hamilton shove and push off lebron as if they are in motions to get open and catch the ball to shoot.

On offense, run plays for kwame to run into lebron while pretending to attempt a layup.Lebron wont resist making a poster block on kwame brown, so when lebron is fully air borne, he getscut underneath by a running 280 pound blob of flesh.

If lebron wants to be crowned as the next airness, he must undergo what Jordan had experienced in 1980s. Lebron is going to get his 10+ fts a game anyways on soft pansy and 1 fouls, so might as well intentional foul him hard on both ends of the floor.

Watched a replay of the game on ESPN and got very pissed when Rip slung Mo like a rag doll.:thumbdown

I didn't see the game live, but watched the DVR.

I did see a gamecast and saw it change at the half to say "LeBron James hit 41-foot three point shot."

In keeping with the Biblical theme, you can all check out the sig I made:
