Round 3, Game 1 | Cavaliers vs. Magic | May 20, 2009 | 8:30PM (EST) TNT

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
A 15 point lead is nothing. Any team is capable of making a run.

And I'll take a wide open shot by Delonte for the win anytime. It was the right play from Lebron.

Playing by pure statistics, that's a shot that only probably has a 40-50% chance of going in. I'm not sure if LeBron took it to the hole, he can't create a higher percentage shot than that.

this win tonight does nothing but give the magic confidence that they can come in here and do it again for game 2 and game 5.

the cavs needed to find a way to win today no matter how many forces were against them. lebron played great ben, wally, and boobie though need to be shot.
Exactly, the Magic just won a game 7 in Boston and follow that up here tonight....

They can ride this a long way...

I don't care what you guys say but this loss falls on LeBron. He scored 49 points but when the game was winding down he stopped the offense. He went back to 05' mode, trying to play 1 on 5 & use his athleticism to make a play.

Don't get me started on the free throws he missed.

Delonte should have made that shot though.

Good game overall, just gotta regroup & get ready for game 2. Gotta have a short memory in the playoffs.

As bad as Z was tonight on defense, he still managed to get 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 10 points.....and was +12 (highest on the team!).

Nobody was expecting Z to dominate Howard... Z can't guard him and anyone who thought that he could is lieing to themselves... Yes Howard did get more on Z than we expected but he also got zero help because the Cavs were content on letting him go 1-on-1 and cover the shooters up... It's pick your poison and the Cavs chose Howard...

He wasn't in position to shoot the ball though. It just shows that Lebron isn't comfortable with his mid-range game when the game is on the line. I thought he could have had a shot when Pietrus fell down, but he kept going in. Just shoot the 10-15 footer.

That last play was weird for LeBron because Pietrus fell over and cut his angle off...

and yet with all of the contact no foul was called

but still lebron probably made the right call, west had just hit an open 3 in the corner and be honest who really thought even up to that point the cavs were going to lose. I was for sure the cavs were going to win even after the missed three..

When did I say in his prime? Way to make stuff up and make yourself look like an idiot. Artest and Battier are better on the ball defenders than anyone on the Celtic team, yes.

You were talking about last year, bro. KG was the best help defender even LAST YEAR. I just pointed out that he was in his prime, also the best. Not much of a case for you, bro. You were talking about how Artest and Battier are better defenders than anyone on the Celtics team last year. Better on ball defenders, sure, but not better OVERALL. Help defense, at the way KG played it last year and in his prime, was WAY more effective than anything Artest or Battier can do to help his team defensively. After all, basketball is a team sport and not about stopping one individual player.

Lebron left everything he had on the court out there, i can't believe you guys are putting so much of the blame on him. the rest of the team played much worse.

+/- isn't a stat that is always reliable but tonight Z had the highest +/- on the team at +12 while Smith and Wallace were the worst at -7 and -14 respectively.

I'll say it again, the key isn't stopping Howard it's stopping Lewis, Turkoglu and the Magic 3 point shooters. When they got it going is when Orlando turned the game around and took the lead. That falls on LeBron, Mo, Delonte and Varejao.

This guy is such a troll. Not even basing it off of this post. Can someone get rid of this guy. It's personal attack after personal attack.

One of the mods should take out any leftover aggression on this guy. :chuckles:

True story, LeBron was phenomenal. The rest of the team really annoyed me and I think it can be attributed to our long layoff. It didn't look like we were cold in the beginning because the Magic focused on LeBron so much that all of our points were in the paint, with a couple of 3s from Delonte. Once LeBron took over our team went ice cold.

LeBron is tired. Have you seen the blood over his knee after the game?
