Round 3, Game 1 | Cavaliers vs. Magic | May 20, 2009 | 8:30PM (EST) TNT

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Pietrus killed us tonight. Hopefully we can prevent him from doing that again.

I personally think when LeBron takes over the PG spot for extended periods of time, thats when the offense gets stagnent.

Not to take anything from LeBron, its fine every play and then, but when he starts just taking over bringing the ball up the court. The game always slows down, the opponents defense sets up, and we go into Jumper mode. Even though LeBron was making them tonight, it took everybody else out the game. Probably just tired legs and stuff, because it usually the LePointGuard Technique doesnt take the team out the offense THAT BAD, like it did tonight anyway. All in all it was kinda everyones fault because everyone else just watched the king the majority of the time.

We lost. If anybody has a Delorean and wants to gun it to 88 then we can keep talking about this upset.

Look toward Friday with a Wine and Gold freight train comin'.

Go get some sleep.

"VanGundy was right about us not being in adversity yet."

There's the dumb ass statement of the year! He was trying to motivate his team. They made all their shots. Lewis hit a tough 3 to bury us. Delonte missed the open look.

Adversity? What would YOU know about that?

It ain't hard coaching when your guys hit 66%. Chill man.

Moo

Was anyone besides Lebron really playing hard in the second half? Seriously some of the guys weren't playing great in the last two games of the Atlanta series and they played the same tonight. Some people were questioning that I chose us to win in seven games prior to the series and this is why. Everyone count to 25, recite the alphabet backwards and have a beer we're in for a long series.

I don't care what you guys say but this loss falls on LeBron. He scored 49 points but when the game was winding down he stopped the offense. He went back to 05' mode, trying to play 1 on 5 & use his athleticism to make a play.

Don't get me started on the free throws he missed.

Your truly not serious are you. You can't be.

I'm loving it. More games for me to watch. If every series was a sweep, we'd only have 16 games of Cavaliers basketball in the postseason. Instead, I'm hoping we get 22.

This lose helps more than hurts us. We needed to expierence a game like this. The worst thing that could of happened is we advance and lose in the Finals and have no idea how to regroup. It also helps that the lose was at home. It tells the team that we arent invincable at home and we still have to play hard to win. It should also light a fire that needs to be lightened.

I hate the fact Lebron is getting the ball at the top of the court were the Magic can easily triple team him. He needs to be off the ball and in the post. Also Mo needs to get back to his bread and butter, the in between game. He has not done anything thing with the mid range game that he is so good at in any series in the playoffs yet. He needs to be more on the ball and get back to middle of the court Pick and Rolls where it opens him up for his mid range game. Our defense was OK even though Dwight went off. We need to tighten up on Rashard and do something new with the way we defend Dwight and it should be fine.

Still this game could of been had. Even with the way we played today we still had a chance to win it at the end. The only thing that stopped us was fatigue and cramps to Lebron.

+1. I'm starting to believe Orlando's the better team, we might be deeper, and we might have the best player in the league, but they're top 3 players are better than our top 3 players.

Is Mo Williams on this playoff roster, because aside from a moment at the end of the first half today, i couldn't tell ya.

What do you mean you're starting to believe. Wasn't that obvious? Everyone knows the Magic have the most talented roster in the entire NBA outside of the Lakers.

The only problem they have is consistency, again, like the Lakers. If they bring it every game, it's over for us. If they don't, which is guaranteed, we'll win. Pretty simple.

How can you sleep after a loss like this?

Two things that have been repeated again and again that led to the loss: stagnant offense and ridiculous Magic shooting percentage.

Both go hand in hand. When you don't make players work on defense by running iso's everytime, not only do you get poor offensive production, but you also allow them to expend less energy on defense, leading to a better FG%. This is exactly what happened tonight and our main problem is just the fact that we get complacent with leads. It happens time and time again, and our team hates to admit it but we consistently get complacent and allow leads to dwindle because of LeIso.

Hopefully this loss reverses the trend.
