In a farewell message to Iraqis posted Wednesday on the Internet, Saddam said he was giving his life for his country as part of the struggle against the U.S. "Here, I offer my soul to God as a sacrifice, and if he wants, he will send it to heaven with the martyrs," he said.

Some people are happy. Some people aren't.

Discuss.

Re: Saddam Executed.

I am one of those who are NOT happy... As ruthless as the man was, he ruled that country with an iron fist.

Bush did this for revenge for his father.... and the Gulf War of 91.

Although his own people tried and convicted him, and senteced him to death, I feel it was a MISJUDGEMENT on their parts. As only God is greater, and we have no right to decide the fate of anyone.

Now, having said that, since some of us (BUSH) think we are above God, it would be just if Bush was tried and convicted and held soley responsible for the 3,000+ troops that have dead over there.

All hell is going to break loose as an outcome to Saddam's death.
And finally, I wonder what his last meal was?

Re: Saddam Executed.

All hell would break lose regardless if this man was dead or alive, its better for him to be dead and for the world as a whole to move on from his era of dictators. hopefully Fidel dies soon so we can finally help out the country of Cuba and try to clean it up.

Re: Saddam Executed.

Glad he is gone. Like James said get rid of the era of dictators.

Re: Saddam Executed.

Bush is the same. 3,000 soldiers are dead because of him.

True which is very sad. But you have to think of it like this. If we didn't go over there after 9-11 then there would most likely been another terrorist attack. There were over 3,000 deaths on just 9-11.

You can hate Bush, Hell I am not a big fan of him. But just think about the day 9-11. I don't care who is in office, they would most likely be hated by most after 9-11. Either way you go there will be alot of people not liking it or will agree then 2nd guess yourself afterwards.

Nothing against you... Politics is a very touchy subject.. but do your research. 9-11 was Osama bin Laden, not Saddam... There were no WMD's like Bush said... we had NO business in Iraq. It's funny how we were all looking for Osama then we believed that Saddam had WMD's and we were all behind him(Bush).... He lied, and the focus was off of Osama... who caused 3,000 deaths on 9/11.

What about Afghanistan?... Shouldn't we be out trying to find the one who caused 9/11? Oh wait, we're busy in Iraq over some lies that Bush told, and more and more soldiers will die each day because of it.

And the war debt is like $300billion/million... i dunno, and we wasted most of that money in Iraq for nothing!

The people of Iraq didn't ask for the US to remove Saddam, "WE" (Bush) took it upon ourselves (BUSH)... And now we're going to pay dearly for it! Way to go Bush.

Yeah I know it was Bin Laden. But although there were no ties with anything which came to my amazement. Just at the time it seemed right to go into Iraq. That had a great aproval rating in the 60-70s percent I believe. And that is because we wanted to end it all. But as the deaths went by and the tie and we got nothing really it slowly went down.

It was a lot of money but I don't believe we wasted the money, we had to do something. We just lost two of our largest buildings in our home turf. We NEVER and I repeat NEVER got hit in our home base. Yes I know Pearl Harbor but that was in Hawaii, not right in our biggest city and our capital.

I am not politcs expert nor do I know everything about the wars. I just go by what I see on the news and do my own beliefs. Everyone gets a belief and that is why we live in a America.

Re: Saddam Executed.

Peace out, Homie... Rot in hell...

I seen a documentary a few years ago that showed these poor innocent people that he ordered to test these chemicals on... Their bodies became so crippled and deformed.. Their eyes were popping out of their heads, and they had acid holes burned thru their faces.. He would just eventually set them on fire

He used to put honey on women and children, and have them mauled to death by pit bulls...

He used to push people off the edge of 30 story buildings...

To be honest, I would have watched him get hung if I could... This guy killed so many innocent people just for the fun of it....

I'm glad he's dead...I just wish some of the victims families could have had their chance at him..

Exactly why he should and I'm glad he is gone. Anyone who takes peoples lifes for no reason at all or just for some damn expierment should be killed.

Re: Saddam Executed.

Saddam should have been ousted and maybe even killed but it should have been done by his own people. America had no right what so ever to step in there and take him out the way they did. I've seen vids of saddam ordering people to their death, seen vids of him dropping people off of cranes 50' off the ground over and over, even heard stories of him raping women on their wedding night or killing the groom. All those are horrible things but not the job of America to step in and get rid of him under false pretenses, there are far worse people living in the world at this exact moment that the US seems to have no intrest in.

I side with Pip on this in that im glad in a way the people don't have to worry about Saddam anymore although they still can't walk around freely because off all the turmoil the US has caused. I also side with Nicky in that Bush needs to be tried too. Justice needs to be served so that the next president doesn't get carried away and do the same thing.

Re: Saddam Executed.

If ever anyone deserved the death penalty, it was this piece of shit. He commited many attrocities versus his own people, and the kurds. And despite all of that, he still could be in power today if he wasn't such an arrogant fvckface, and kept breaking the UN resolutions. At some point, something has gotta be done to people who won't obey international law. Now you could argue that there was nothing he could have done about it, that Bush was supposedly out to get him no matter what. But I'm really not sure that was the case. At any point Satan's new bitch could have also stepped down from power, and gotten asylum somewhere else. But instead he ended his freedom, stuck in a spider hole like a little bitch.

He brought this shit on himself. Now I'm not really a big fan of the way this administration handled Iraq though. I would have been more in favor of some strategic bombings, ala attempts at decapitating the leadership of the nation, et al. These people in Iraq don't like each other, and now we got a bunch of troops who are stuck in the middle of Iraq's great civil war.

Re: Saddam Executed.

I knew this would happen, a Hitleresque dictator who murdered 100's OF THOUSANDS gets tried and executed by his own people and a few here turn it into a Bush bashing thread. Pathetic really. There are more than enough threads on here to bash Bush. This shouldn't be one of them. It's disrespectful to the 100's OF THOUSANDS of men, women and children that were raped, tortured, gassed, experimented on....murdered. While you may not agree with how the Iraqis got the opportunity to put Saddam on trial, bottom line is the guy deserved it more than almost anyone on earth.

All hell is going to break loose as an outcome to Saddam's death.
You are painfully misinformed if you don't think these people already were in hell for decades under his rule. The terrorists are upset today....the innocent are rejoicing.

Burn in hell Saddam....slowly.

You are so wrong. And here is just a very SMALL reason(s):

I seen a documentary a few years ago that showed these poor innocent people that he ordered to test these chemicals on... Their bodies became so crippled and deformed.. Their eyes were popping out of their heads, and they had acid holes burned thru their faces.. He would just eventually set them on fire

Please, don't bring god into this. We as a community get effected by an individual, and we as a community should be able to do something about this individual and we should choose his fate.

God has nothing to do with anything. He is not present. We are. And some religious people claim that god gave us the freedom of choice. GOOD. So now we chose to do this to a very very bad man.

And it is this line of thinking "Oh we are not god, we should not play god...." that has kept society back.

Agree with me or not, don't bring god into the conversation.

Ps-Before you start labeling be as Atheist or Ignostic or whatever, think of what happens when you ass-u-me.

PPS-Hitler kills many many many people. If he did not kill himself and we got to him first, should we have not done anything about it?
