Safety Safari - Eric Murray of K.C.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He has a $7.5m roster bonus due this Friday, so I'm sure we will know soon what KC is doing with him. Here is my stance: Earl Thomas will get big bucks but we saw last year, before he got hurt, that he was still one of the best safeties in football. With Berry, who has only played 4 games in the last 2 years, it is more of an unknown of if he is the same player that earned that huge contract KC gave him.

If he's cut, I'd be interested at the right price.

With Mathieu now in the fold for KC I can’t see Berry coming back.

Still a little worried about our cap situation with a potential Thomas signing.

While Dorsey is great at acquiring talent in crafty ways, my buddy (KC diehard) laments that he isn't as well-versed in working out contract flexibility for the future. We have a lot of young studs that will be asking for some big $$ the next few years.

Honestly we have probably 2 years to use the cap space before it goes away. IN 3 years we might have another uncapped year and then a new CBA which would most likely reset all the roll over cap.

Thus why Dorsey is going for it. The cap might not matter soon.

Sucks Thomas went to the Ravens but I'd rather not pay him that much anyway.

Just saw on a random KC blog that rumors have us interested in Berry. Take it for what it’s worth...

If that dude signs and returns to form, look the fuck out. Perhaps we parted w Peppers bc we know we are signing Berry.

He had an Achilles rupture then some other heel-related problem, but wow was this guy amazing when he was healthy.

He could be washed but we do have doctors who can tell us that. Also, he might very well be about winning, given that he has already been massively paid before.
