Saints Row IV

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well I guess the Saints Row 4 thing really isn't a demo considering I couldn't get on to play. I don't know if it only lets you create a character or if it goes farther but it wouldn't let me upload my character and said the server is down or something.

Yeah it's not a demo. It's the Inauguration Station. It just lets you create your president ahead of the release so that you're ready to play when the game unlocks.

Seen it played, buddy has it on a modded system

It's a cross between crackdown and SR3

It's interesting to say the least, looks to be worth picking from what I've seen played (roughly first 4 hours of game time)

When I heard about the main character being the president and having super powers I thought the game was going to be OD and just be really childish and dumb. But after seeing extensive gameplay of it, it actually looks pretty fun to play. Might be the first Saints Row I buy.

It's a Saints Row game. Childish and dumb kind of go with the territory.

I've played the first two hours or so of the game and it's very enjoyable. I only have a couple of powers so far. You get super sprint and super jump almost immediately, and like Crackdown you collect orbs in order to level up your powers as those upgrades unlock (they're tied to both story progress and your current level). You also get freeze blast pretty early. You can unlock a variety of upgrades for those three powers as well, including glide (which lets you get around the city a lot faster), height increases on the jump, and sprint speed increases.

The only other power I've gotten is fire blast. Definitely looking forward to seeing the rest, though. Using the super powers is definitely more fun than just running and gunning.

Also, I haven't actually used a vehicle since the first couple of missions where it was required, and also to check out my pre-order bonus "Screamin' Eagle" jet.

GTA V

/thread

Meh. As has been outlined at least three times in this thread, the two games are essentially nothing alive aside from both being open world. And based on my experiences thus far with Saints Row IV, GTA V will have to work very hard to be this damn fun.

Hell, in the very first mission (which makes fun of Call of Duty and Halo, btw), you disarm a nuclear warhead to an Aerosmith song. It's incredible.

I just mentioned GTA to start crap :chuckles:

But it was coming anyway. That is stupid though that the Saint Row demo doesn't have gameplay, and I spent 2 hours creating a character and it wouldn't even save it.

I'm still working on saints row the third, as well as countless other games in my backlog. I will be picking this game up when it inevitably goes on sale somewhere (PC).

I finally got the Inaguration thing to work. I just spent like 3 hours creaing Walter White on Saints Row. It looks dang near perfect too. And I got a Heisenburg outfit and the outfit of him in his underwear. I may have to get this game now.

Personally, I'm rolling with President The Incredible Hulk.

Also worth noting is that there are seven potential voice actor choices: four males, three females. The best part is that one of the male options is Nolan North. Like, it's actually just called Nolan North. :chuckles:

Seriously guys...buy this game. It's amazing. One of the most fun games I've played in a good long time. It's also surprisingly funny. I mean, I found Saints Row: The Third amusing, but I rarely laughed out loud (the Burt Reynolds cameo, though, was the best thing ever). I've laughed out loud at least a dozen times already. They really brought their A-game to this one. Definitely worth the money.

I actually would get this, but I'm gonna have to wait if I do. I'm dropping too much money on video games. I want to get NBA 2k14, GTA V, PayDay2, Battlefield 4, and then Saints Row 4? That's like 300 freakin bucks on just games man. That is crazy. I'm a broke college kid. Otherwise if I had money to blow, yea I'd get it.

What kind of Video card are you using on your PC?

I have the GeForce 650 GTX TI and it crashes all the time in DX 10/11 when trying to paly SR3. DX9 mode runs fine.

Thought it was the drivers so updated to the 320.49 drivers and have had nothing but TDR issues (win7 64) since I switched drivers, kinda lame and an ongoing issue from what I've read. Probably should have read about the new drivers before updating since once it's update and get the TDR issue it just keeps happening, not even rolling back drivers fixes it

Just curious to see if you've run into an of the same kind of issues with SR3 or other games

I'm using a geforce 480 and I haven't had any issues in dx11. Do you have any issues in other games?
