No player should be on the roster because they are a good "mentor". You either contribute on the field or you go down the road. We won't need both Maile and Hedges. It's one or the other backing up Naylor.

Did you not read, one is in the bigs and one is at AAA... You never know how injuries work as well. You always need a veteran depth especially at C... We may even try to bring back Leon to be honest lol

You think Hedges will accept a minor league deal? You think that Maile will have to settle for a minor league deal with all the shitty C in the league right now? Maile is turning himself into a borderline starting C if he hasn't by now. Hedges would be catching every 3rd game if it were up to me.

We really don't know what the offers will be. Hedges doesn't have much time left to play in all honesty...

I think it would be smart to get Hedges/Maile or both back into camp, especially if they are on minor league deals and/or a cheap MLB deal. Catcher is a position you want a veteran at, whether or not it's a starter or backup. It doesn't always work that way, but in 23, we still have a really young team and likely won't be any older than we were this season in a way especially if we move Plesac and Rosario.

Shit, we already have a damn good roster Mott. There are a couple of positions either being "worked out" or waiting for our best prospects to get promoted. In all honesty I think there is an argument that the only thing we really "need" is a RHH 1B/OF/DH. I think it was CATS that first mentioned Juan Yepez and he still fits the bill perfectly IMO. Get me Juan Yepez and everything would be as it should be. Guardian utopia!

Why would a small market trade the guy with 6 years of control over the one with 3... You would also get more for the guy with three, so if you have a competent GM you know that the one with 6 wouldn't get traded...

How am I stating a false narrative? Murphy would net more right now than Langeliers plus Langeliers has more MLB control. Don't small markets prefer team control? Also Oakland doesn't have a strong farm, so they need to get more talent.
