With Langeliers up now do you anticipate Murphy traded this off-season before his arb kicks in? Or do you think they could let langeliers bat develop for a year at DH?

I think it kind of depends how Langeliers plays these next six weeks. If he hits .180 or something, then they can just send him back to Las Vegas and don't have to feel pressure to move Murphy unless someone meets a huge ask..

Edit: 1:41
If he carries over what he did in AAA, then it's probably time to earnestly shop Murphy. Not so much about the money -- he'll still be cheap in arb -- but a huge part of each player's value is the plus defense behind the plate. Having them rotate through DH is a bit of a waste

By not defining the "ask" no false narrative is presented..

you continue to present a false narrative..

Respond to your own statement: How does Oakland get a stronger farm system for a team to compete on two or three years?..

The answer isn't the A's keep everyone on their ML roster right now..

You trade the guy who isn't going to be there... Why would they trade a guy who has 6 years of control right now? That makes little sense for the A's...

My point was they are trading Murphy and not trading Langeliers because of the amount of control... Soderstrom is a catching prospect and a lot of people question if he can make it as a catcher. I don't see why Oakland wouldn't trade Langeliers with his amount of control and the fact he is considered one of the best defensive catchers in all the minors right now...

Aka I believe Oakland will not move their catching prospect Langeliers because of team control and GSon believe Cleveland can get him... it makes absolutely no sense for Oakland to trade Langeliers when Murphy would net more plus has way less team control and their other C prospect hasn't shown he can play a solid catcher defensively and is a couple years away.

They aren't trading Langeliers though, why in the F would a competent GM trade a top 100 catching prospect that has a plus defense when they are rebuilding when they can get way more for the catcher who won't be there when the team is back to being good?

I keep saying they will trade Murphy not Langeliers... is that hard to understand? Lol

They just won't trade Murphy until the offer is right/Langeliers is 100% ready

Dude, you are falling for his horseshit. Everyone sees what you are posting, that they will trade their established C before their prospect C. Since he can't admit to being wrong, he will continue to act like you are saying they will not trad a C at all.

The easiest thing you can do is stop feeding the troll.

I have never been good at backing down when I see b.s. lol

How am I stating a false narrative? Murphy would net more right now than Langeliers plus Langeliers has more MLB control. Don't small markets prefer team control? Also Oakland doesn't have a strong farm, so they need to get more talent.
I'm not so sure about that Coach. While Murphy is an excellent defensive C, he's not exactly great with the bat. Langeliers looks like he's a bit more well rounded. Obviously the rest of the teams in the league didn't feel Murphy was worth the ask and I happen to agree with them.

Edited to say that we can't really argue one way or the other. We have no idea what's any team is willing to offer for Murphy or Langeliers and we have no idea what the asking price is from Oakland. We do know that the asking price for Murphy was more than any team was willing to pay. I can't draw any conclusions from that. What you say makes sense generally, but there are other possibilities even if they are remote.

Agree with this.. without knowing the ask.. the result is _______________

@Gson, he would be next to nothing to get.. He is supposed to be solid defensively... What do you think?
