Summer League: 7/11 Cavs vs Lakers 6pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Morrison > Kobe

... if you are the announcers that is...

Next game, Darnell better not be shooting as much. He's taking too many shots from people who need them.

Darnell probably makes the team. I don't think his summer league performance matters too much. If anything, the Cavs want him to get more touches and get practice in game situations. He's a guy they've already targeted to develop. Sure, it sucks for the other guys trying to make the team, but most of these guys are never going to play in the NBA. So it's not a huge deal. I'd just like to see Darnell hit a few more of the shots.

4-4 2pts 3-3 3pts 2-2 fts aint a bad start at all for danny green
edit
5-7 2pts 4-6 3pts 2-2 fts, still good. that last minute hurt his %s

I know he got a ton of looks, but I say let Darnell shoot. He's currently the closet thing we have to a PF with a jumpshot on the roster (unless you count LBJ). He needs the reps.

Darnell is under contract already. There's no question he makes the team.

Danny Green did exactly what he needed to do. Solid game from him, hopefully a sign of things to come.

Impressions from the game

Green:couldnt have been much better, looked great, def. looks like he could make an impact this year

Eyenga:years away from even making the roster, love the athleticism

Leo Lyons:loved his moves off the dribble, good size and athleticism, looks like a potential keeper if he continues to play this well

Jackson:awful awful awful 1st half, better 2nd half, looked good on the block

those are the only players ill watch the rest fo the summer as they are the only potential players on the cavs roster or future roster

Second round contracts aren't guaranteed. I'm not sure when they'd have to cut him for him to not be on the roster next season. But I don't think he's guaranteed a spot next season contractually. The Cavs have spent time developing him though, and he's likely in their future plans. That's why he's going to get as many touches as he did. The Cavs are still trying to develop him (whether they're contractually obligated to or not).

Lyons had a solid game.
Harrison=GTFO
TK plays like a girl
Eyenga- solid defense. deer in the headlights on offense
D-Block- blah.. way to many jumpers
Jawad- solid nothing spectactular
Green- by far the best showing, offense and defense

david harrison seriously looked like a highschool player, he is awful

what was so great for me to see was how dgreen looked like the best player out there most of the time. i mean COMPLETE player. if you didn't know it, there's no way you would've said this was his first summer league game. what i liked is that he forced or was in on like 5 TO's on defense. and i thought when he was guarding morrison and anderson, both guys who've already been in the league, he did a near-lockdown job on them.

i also loved how he played basketball, not summer league ball. he made good entry passes to the post. he ran a pick and roll with lyons that ended with a lay-up for lyons...i could go on but i just loved the kids "floor game" as AC would put it.

oh and he's a shooter. knocked down nearly everything including 3 three-balls. i cannot imagine this kid doesn't work his way in to getting some minutes next year. another 2nd round find for the cavs, IMHO...
