Summer League Game 3: Phoenix vs. Cleveland, Tuesday, July 17 2012, 8:30pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If by the end of next season his offense still looks like this I say we just double down on trying to turn him into a defensive monster. He might not ever be able to make a shot consistently from more than 8 ft out but we sure as hell can load up him on HGH and have him kill wild boars with his bare hands for strength and toughness in the off season.

It's gotta be a slow, patient process with Tristan in that regard. We can't expect him to go from last year to having post moves and taking people off the dribble at will overnight.

What I want to see from Tristan this season is improvement near the basket. Less fumbling the ball, less time wasted gathering, less getting it knocked away, etc. Get the ball, control it, finish it. If he can do that, and continue to improve his FT shooting, he'll already be a double double machine with increased minutes. Then we can start to worry about more advanced things.

I'm liking what I'm seeing for Waiters. It's not just that he is playing well - a lot of guys play well in a traditional sense. But he has a really uncanny, Kyrie-esque way of getting to the hoop despite not being as quick as your Iverson's, etc. He's playing well, but it's looking SPECIAL.

More impressive, though, was the passing. Just about every time he is on the break or making a drive, he makes the right pass. He doesn't even telegraph - looks point guard natural out there in terms of passing ability - and especially could pass for a rookie pg in terms of passing ability.

The shot isn't looking great but he did shoot a high percentage in college and like others have mentioned, he can't catch passes for shots - few can shoot a high percentage shooting 3s off the dribble...

Does anyone else like these announcers? They just seem like real fans. It's weird to watch non-Cavs announcers knowing things like Samardo was in scott's doghouse, and understand that the only real significant thing going on on tonight is everyone evaluating Dion. Of course they prep for this, but still - I donno maybe it's just me but they seem like real fans unlike that Sam Mitchell tandem the other night.

Yeah they should replace fred and AC (please?)

TT is just going to be that guy who is going to be 25ish before he is who we drafted him to be, and I'm fine with that as long as he steadily improves.

DJ Kennedy is just terrible. I hate seeing him play.

Was liking these announcers until they just said DJ Kennedy was a good up and coming player--- sike...send him back to the Bayhawks

This whistle-fest is making me lose concentration. Summer league refs. Yikes.

Waiters took a bad/awkward step there, only reason Morris was able to recover. Luckily it looks like he's okay.

Samardo playing pretty well. Maybe he finally carves a stable role for himself this year.

Hope he didn't do anythin more than tweak his knee. You can tell he didn't get up in te air like he usually does when he dunks... Maybe he's too fat right now :chuckles:
