Single elimination. If a team loses their first tournament game, they get to play a consolation game (amounting to 5 games total during Summer League). If they keep winning, they play through to the championship game (that would be 7 games total for the Cavs).

Wouldnt mind seeing Dellavadova start this time. Especially against Cory Joseph. Both are larger, but laterally slower point guards. Joseph is rounding into shape learning to defend better by using angles down there in San Antonio.

Coming out of Findley Prep, he was a horrible defender. Or maybe he just looked that more pedestrian because Delonte Jr aka Nick Johnson was in the backcourt with him.

In any case, I would like to see Dellevadova run the point primarily and get Dion back to working off the ball like he tried to in that first half of game 1 against LA.

The coaches should give Dion a challenge that he's not allowed to dribble for an entire game. Or at least no more than one bounce. Get him to see the game in a totally different light and see how he handles it.

I agree that a head to head between Cojo (Joseph) & Dellavadova will be very interesting. I'd give the defensive edge to Cojo but Delly gets the edge as a true PG.

That would be pretty effective, believe it or not.

When I was a senior and they brought in a freshman who was going to replace me (Lil Gary) he was a ball stopper who relied on bouncing the ball too much to get rhythm to pass/shoot everything. We went through a week of practice where Coach White said ANY time Gary puts the ball on the floor more than 2x its a turnover. Kid really adjusted well. First down on JV and by mid season he was playing varisty and contributing behind me.

Wish Dion had a coach who cared enough about his overall development or had the foresight to keep him from developing such bad habits back then.

Yeah I'm really hating the ball stopping by Dion. It's awful and just ruins any offensive flow we try to make. It would be one thing if he had the skill level of Kyrie but that's obviously not the case. Allen Iverson was such a bad influence on this kid.
