Scoop reminded me of a poor man's Dion Waiters: more of a combo guard than a point guard, hard to say how well he defends outside of the Syracuse system. Dion was the better athlete and scorer.

If Scoop is a poor man's Waiters, can I assume that Chris Quinn is a poor man's Aaron Craft?

I think the Cavaliers should hire me to do a pregame speech for the summer leagues. It would go something like this:

It's up to you to play the meaningless exhibition game of your lives if you expect to advance in this meaningless tournament. Reggie Geary isn't walking through that door, fellas! If you are waiting for Jelani McCoy to show up and box out for you, you have another thing coming. Josh Heytvelt, is Milos Babic going to protect the rim for you, or are YOU going to protect that rim? Cory Higgins, is Donny Marshall going to jump off that bench and bury one out of four three pointers, or are YOU going to throw up a bunch of ill-advised three pointers? You are damn right!! Now let's give those thirty fans out there a summer league effort!!

Im impartial to combo guards who arent the quickest or jump the highest and play the game with their heads. After we drafted Dion I went back and watched like 3 more Syracuse games including that Ohio State Elite 8 loss where the only guy who stood out to me watching it live was Scoop (I generally HATE Syracuse, dont like watching them and that cheap ass zone, dont really care for Boeheim). I came away liking the way Jardine played the game more than Dion or Trische. No way in hell he will translate to the pros, but he played the smartest and he had a calm competitive nasty streak. Played the game like a coach.

How many more of these guys are going to commit to Syracuse, only to see that the way they play defense doesnt translate well to the pros? They all come out lacking on that end after sitting through seasons of camping out in the zone.
 
i thought zeller and waiters aren't playing anymore?
 
Aww man. Looks like we got the wrost possible play-by-play announcers for this game. On another note Carrick isn't getting off to a good start. Hope he gets it going later.
 
i really wish dion wasn't playing.
