Summer League Game 4 - Cavs vs. Spurs - Thursday, July 18, 2013, 4:00pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Agree: Taylor and Higgins provided some offense when they were in there but not been impressed with the rest.
Delledova doesn't seem that all good to me: blew some easy looks and has trouble getting shots off when he goes inside.
Felix hasn't looked that impressive since Game 1.

Waiters with a good game: seems like people really want to comment only when he screws up. He was really strong overall tonight

That happens with players that people are predisposed against. LIke me with Zeller. I can really only see his mistakes.

That said, I find it funny Waiters gets criticized for a bad end of game possession when the goal of the possession was to use the clock. Guess what, when the goal is to run the clock all the way down, the possession is probably going to be an ugly one. Especially in Summer League with teammates you don't know and a coach who probably isn't drawing up the most advanced of plays. Even in the NBA, with the best coaches, late game, run the clock possessions generally end poorly.

yes i know i just didn't want it in his hands?

So you wanted the ball in the other guy's hands on the team who can get a shot at the end of the clock? I see. Who would that be, btw?

And Zeller getting knocked around like a toddler by everyone all the time.

In your defense, there are a lot of mistakes to see.... :chuckles:

But Zeller actually had some good performances earlier during Summer League. Today he just looked weak all around. I'm surprised they haven't been running more plays for him to take outside shots.

I didn't have a problem with the 28-sec-left possession for Waiters, but there were some others where running an actual play might have been preferable. Still, I thought he had was pretty aggressive with the ball -- make or miss. Not as much annoying hesitation where he gets the ball and shifts into "I want to be a PG" mode. A lot of things are going to work better for him when there are NBA-quality offensive threats on the floor, even with better defenders.

It's a Givenchy shirt that on the back reads like a jersey #17 "PERVERT"

He had a towel draped over it during the 2nd half.

Yeah...Not smart :chuckles: Cool he's over there listening to Mike, though

Zeller is a physical non-entity out there. He doesn't move anybody, he gets moved.

If you're a big man and extremely contact averse, stick to volleyball or something. I'm sure RCF could start a pool to subsidize the difference in pay check for his volleyball career.

Once he got into a groove, I like how he was more decisive in the middle quarters with scoring when he had the chance to off the ball. Couple times he dribbled maybe once or twice before pulling up from mid range here on the left side. That was encouraging. He definitely needed the ball early to get himself going though. He was bringing it up more than Dellavadova and when Higgins was in there, he kept coming to him to get the ball.

Really cant believe Zeller played so bad. That was the Zeller who lost all of his legs and will to play ball that we saw midway through his rookie year. ugh

Rather have Jack Cooley than Zeller. My goodness. The dude is terrible.

As long as they realize Zeller should be the 5th big going forward long term, it wont kill us. Just wish we had used those 3 picks in a better manner! Was not a deep draft, but I am sure Grant would like to have that decision back.

Didn't see the game, Dion put up a good stat line apparently, is it fools gold, or can we stop hating him?

I don't think there was much better available, I would have liked Fournier, but Zeller was one of the best you could have gotten at that point.
