Terrelle Pryor - By the Numbers

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
And that's the point that doesn't seem clear to a few in here.

You're not getting our point.

Who cares if LeBron is his guy?

The only ties Pryor has to Ohio is that he's going to school here for 4 years. So why in the hell should I be pissed if a PA guy (not an Ohio guy, not a Cleveland guy) is friends with LeBron? He's not a Cleveland guy, so he's not a fan nor does he know about Cleveland sports.

It's different when you talk about current Cavs. Those are the guys LeBron left behind, told weren't good enough, etc. Those are the guys that have ties to Cleveland. Pryor has none of that.

Should I get pissed at Carmelo, Chris Paul, and any other NBA player that is still friends with LeBron? Why would I hate on people just due to their association with LeBron? Do you still hate Windy?

You can talk about all the numbers you want for TP, but the most important # for him: 0 trips to the BCS Championship game.

Shit, look how good LBJ's stats were here at Cleveland. But his time here was still a failure because he never won the trophy.

So was Craig Krenzel better then Pryor?

Got one year left...

But you don't measure a QB in National Championships....you measure TEAMS that way.

Because if you're going to tell me Troy Smith doesn't apply as one of the greats because he has no BCS Championships....well then I'd say you're losing your damn mind. :)

Championships are such a shitty measurement of individual performance in football.

Was Craig Krenzel supposed to be the best QB ever to take the field at the Horseshoe? No

While yes you judge TEAMS that way, Pryor's two worst games as a Buckeye outside of his freshman season were against USC in 2008 (cost us National Championship berth) and this year against Wisconsin (again no BCS berth).

I'm actually shocked he's coming back to school, I still think there's a chance he goes into the draft.

And yes, Troy Smith is one of the greatest College QB's of all time, but is he the Greatest? No, because he never won a National title. If the Cavs draft Jared Sullinger next year and in 3 years they win the NBA title, he will instantly be elevated to a level above LBJ as a Cavalier, and stats will have nothing to do with it.

Typically I agree, but take Cam Newton off of Auburn and they're not even a ranked team. Take TP off the Buckeyes and they're still favorites to win the Big Ten.

No...they're not.

And that is comparing apples to oranges, seeing as how the SEC is much stronger than the Big 10.

Yes... they are. Buckeyes have the 2nd best defense in the league. Special Teams and inconsistant QB play are the reason we're not playing for the National Championship.

Auburn's Defense is awful, but Cam Newton can will that team back in the second half down multiple touchdowns against IMO the best team in the league 'Bama.

Well if Pryor was out and our back up, Joe Bauserman was starting, you would get consistency. Consistently bad play and at least 3 to 4 losses. Pryor is our best player, and without him we would not win the big 10.

Newton and Pryor have similar stat lines passing the ball....

Some people think Bauserman is good. LOL. I got in an argument with one of my roomies over it, was hilarious. Ironically it was during the Illinois game where Bauserman came in, and then promptly threw a pick.

My favorite OSU qb is Joe Germaine. It's a shame he had to split time with Jackson. Best OSU QB would be Troy Smith. Led his team to the national Championship game and won the heisman.

Pryor just bothers me. His stats are nice but he's the most frustrating player on earth to watch. He's a below average passer and a great athlete.

Not to mention he is playing in a time where outside of the Buckeyes the conference is garbage. He beats up on shit teams like Indiana and Eastern Michigan, OU amasses great stats that cover up his average performances vs decent teams(I'm talking specifically about passing). I know he's a great runner and that's the other dimension of his game and thats what makes him great. When he drops back to pass it's fucking nauseating at times. Here's his passing stats vs Bowl teams in his 2 years of starting and I'm talking about AQ conference bowl teams including bowl games.

167/299 55%comp 2221 yards 17 TDs 10 INts That's a Qb rating of 84.59448160535116.

He only had 4 games vs these teams without an INT and he had 3 games with 0 tds(includes rushing).

He's not the best QB ever to play. He'll be top 5 if the team does well during his suspension.

In response your post with stats backing up vs AQ bowl teams this year Newton, he played vs 10. His stats:

129/202 63%comp 1897 yds 18 tds 6 ints QB rating of 111

Not even close IMO. He had two games w/out a passing td but never had a game without a TD scored. He had 5 games without an INT. They're really not similar when you compare them on "equal" terms and that's giving the Big Ten the benefit of the doubt and saying that Big Ten bowl teams are as good as SEC which this year isn't true.
