Texans' Record Watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Extremely lucky, a small percentage of the praise goes to Sashi, the rest goes to Watson's knee giving out. That team was electric, he was electric.

Don't go claiming Sashi a god. This whole organization needs to be dumped.

Yeah, I’m sure a lot of people will lose sight of that though.

I’m incredibly happy with how lucky they got. The front office traded away what looks to be a second franchise QB and was only bailed out by an injury.

They were another healthy 6-7 games away from Trading the #12 pick for something like #20 and #25.

I’m glad it worked out but the people pumping up Sashi for that is a bit of a stretch for me. He made a bad decision but was rewarded because of an injury.

#20 and #25 still wins in value over #12 alone.

Sashi made mistakes—I’m not saying he was Executive of the Year. I really blame them all for passing on Wentz given his plus size, tools, and personality.

However, 11 teams passed on Watson, and he was the third quarterback drafted.

No one predicted he’d look quite how he looked in Houston.

In fact, his first two games he looked awful when he put the ball in the air. It looked like the concerns were valid.

Give the man credit for adapting and O’Brien credit for changing his system to accommodate his skills. Easy reads, incorporated runs—you know, doing your young quarterback a favor unlike what Hue did. His confidence grew, and he started making plays by the bushel load.

Luck, whatever it took—#4 pick is a steal. We just have to make sure we don’t miss.

I don't think anyone here has claimed that Sashi is a god...just that he was clearly better at GM than Hue is at coach, thus making it ridiculous that Hue kept his job instead.

Still disappointed how they do the tiebreakers. The Colts beat Houston twice, it should only make sense that they are ahead of them in the standings because of that.

I'm concerned Barkley will be gone before the Browns pick again at 4. What do the Giants and Colts both need more than a franchise running back? Could they draft one of the top quarterbacks? Maybe linemen?

I definitely have a feeling if and when the Browns take a quarterback first overall - Barkley is gone by the time they pick again.

Which isn't the worst thing in the world.. They will still have a ton of options. I also wouldn't mind moving up one spot with Indy to make sure we get Barkley if that is who they want at No.4 and he's sitting there after the Giants pick someone.

They have a ton of assets. Not saying give up a top pick like any high 2nds. But to move up one spot? Couldn't a 4th round pick get them there? I believe it could.

Again, that's if Barkley is the guy they want at 4. I assume they don't have an idea yet.

Gettleman seem to indicate they believe in Eli going forward, but they have a significant weakness in the offensive line and running game. I don't think Gettleman would draft a RB that high but I could be wrong.

The Colts and Chris Ballard are definitely not taking a running back that high. Gore and Mack were their biggest bright spots this season on offense.

Both teams desperately need offensive line help.

Saying we missed on Watson ignores a key reason many of us didn’t want him

Long term durability

Way too early to say we missed on Watson. His rookie year was looking a lot like..... RG3’s...

I can’t believe the Giants would pass on a future replacement for Eli, even if they think he’ll play for the next 2 years.

Yeah, unless Darnold goes back to school and we take Rosen, I don't see anyway the Giants don't take a QB at 2.

I still fully expect the first two picks to be Rosen & Darnold in some order.

Agree completely, unless like you said darnold goes back to school.

If you gave me 100 bucks to bet on the number 1 i think its darnold. Mayfield comes into play because he clearly wants the job, but i think its darnold at the end of the day

This way of thinking makes me want to just take Barkley 1st and get your QB at 4. HATE the idea of picking an RB at 1 though.

Exactly.. I would find it hard to justify it, even though I love the kids game and upside.

I want him on the Browns pretty bad, though. I would hope it they did somehow take him first overall, that's a ton of pressure on that kid because it's very very rare to see a back go No.1 overall.

Will they do that? I think the chances are more likely the Browns get Aaron Rogers. But it's something to think about..

If the Browns take Barkley at one overall instead of QB1, I will personally march to Berea and dick slap John Dorsey myself.

Guys, can we take a second to talk about how fucking lucky we are to end up with the 4th and 35th pick from trading the 12th pick and taking on Brock O for a few weeks?

What an insane haul. Thank you DWs ACLs. Thank you everybody who participated in this record watch. This is huge.
