The 2020 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well...Karinchak does his thing in the bottom of the second...walks the bases loaded with one out...and gets out of it, including a swinging K by Hernandez.

sportscoach.... I guess we both want the same general things. We want to the MLB team do well. We want to discuss ideas (even different ones so a new viewpoint can be explored). We want a good chat board where fans can gather, discuss what is happening. Agreement is not key. Treating others with respect is key..

All that said Ive already listed that 1 poster on ignore. Too much BS & hot air already. Too many same statements as another poster that literally ruined another good chat board as mods would not/ could not take actions against R over a multiple year period. What was worse that poster created multiple accounts & ignoring them all ruined the readability of the pages... Nearly 20 people migrated over here as the IBI/ 24-7 boards closed & I believe part of the reason coming here was becuz said poster (R) had already been banned here at RCF.. I know it was a selling point for me when "Booyas" (mainly part of the Browns boards) pointed out the ban to me...
And MadThinker was the reason I came over here, then me and him kept posting on the 24/7 forums for people to get their butts over here!

Now Hammy says that its 1-0.

Chang takes Biebs deep to lead off the third.

I'm so confused as the broadcast goes in and out...lol.

Not that I need any help.

Karinchak walked in a run last inning.

Biebs struggles in the third.

After Changs bomb, Elmore gets an inf single, takes second on a wild pick off attempt, and scores on a Naquin single.

Biebs also walks a batter.

I think its 2-1 visitors...lol.

Per IBI Twitter

Hamilton said on the broadcast that Bradley Zimmer isn't playing due to a tight hamstring.

Biebs gave up another run as WP moved a runner up, and Valera knocked him in.

But the home team came storming back, highlighted by D Johnsons three run bomb.

The inning was called when D Hernandez hit his pitch limit.

Who knows what the score is now, but I think its 6-3.

It's over after 4.5.

5-3 Home team.

Good night for the kiddies

Good outing for Ollie, a perfect inning.

JRam, Lindor, and Carlos looked sharp with the glove.

Not so good for Karinchak.

Valera's single sounded really good. You don't sound that way unless you really have a good swing.

I was stanning for him so hard last year...

Too bad he isn't a 2B!

Honestly This season he was supposed to make his MLB debut, but now with a shortened season he may not.

But what's weird about this season, we will go out of camp with the best 30 players. In past years you would keep a Johnson at AAA to make sure he gets everyday ABs, but with this season not having the minors, its very possible someone like him gets a bench spot so he can learn and be around the big league guys to get that experience and whatnot.

Obviously, it’s the same for all teams, but both physically and psychologically, it’s got to be different preparing for the season in your own park, field Dimensions, base paths, sight lines, background, locker room, etc. than tripping around Florida and Arizona in tiny little stadiums and flat multi field complexes.

So in the last four days Chang has homered against Carrasco, Plesac, and Bieber, three members of the regular rotation.

Wonder if he's making a case to be a temporary replacement for Lindor next year?

Tito on Chang:

“He hit a ball the other day (Monday) that was, like, five rows from hitting the back wall there. It’s just really obvious that he worked hard during the time off, but I love watching him do that. Hopefully it’s really good for his confidence, because this kid’s got some talent to play.”

That reminds me of the home run Napoli hit that landed about five rows from the scoreboard. Longest HR I ever saw to left field at the Prog. And an infielder just matched it? Trevor Bauer's reaction was priceless.

I thought Chang might have plateaued after hitting .256/.741 at age 23 in Columbus, then following it up last year with a .253/.748. When a player repeats a level you hope to see at least a modest improvement, but in 801 AAA at-bats at age 23 and 24 Chang hit a combined .255 with 22 home runs. He had four stolen bases in eight attempts. He didn't hit for average or power and he has no speed.

We have to keep in mind that the pitchers are throwing against live hitters for the first time since March. Tito admitted that Carrasco left a couple of pitches in the middle of the plate. Still, it's nice to see Chang going deep against three right-handed starters. This would have been a big year for him after failing to improve in his second season in Columbus and hitting .178 in 73 at-bats with the Indians. Unfortunately it will probably be a lost season because I can't see how he'll get any playing time in a 60-game season barring an injury or a positive covid test.
