The Chubb-Hub Yardage Delivery Service

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It’s going to take a while to get over this. I feel like I can generally deal with injuries but the finality of this one is tough.

Given the nature of the injury, it’s probably more likely than not he played his last game…and that just absolutely sucks.

He was on pace for the HOF. I’m not expecting him back, ever. If he comes back that’s great but this is maybe it. We will always remember this guy as an all time great.

I'm gonna be honest. Chubb's injury was honestly quite traumatizing and horrific to witness, in a way that makes me question my enjoyment and relationship to this entire sport.

Chubb is one of the toughest and strongest players in the NFL. In a league full of exceptional athletes, Chubb was in the top 1% of that. The best of the best.

And yet, there is not a single person on earth that would be able to withstand 215 pounds of force being driven directly into their knee. Besides ligament and bone damage, there was the potential of damaging arteries and nerves as well...potential life-threatening consequences.

I cannot look the other way while the NFL considers what Fitzpatrick did a legal football play. The NFL needs to implement rules that offer protection and prevent this kind of targeting. Without harsh consequences, the NFL is tacitly saying they are okay with what happened.

How can anyone enjoy the NFL with the knowledge that any player's career can literally end in an instant, knowing players like Fitzpatrick are allowed to dive at knees with reckless abandon?

We don't have to support this, and we shouldn't. I simply can't support or meaningfully invest in this league anymore unless changes are made.

Yeah. I was just thinking that this might have also robbed him of the Hall of Fame.

It's not much, but @Los216 shared some decent early news on that front:

Chubb will be back

I’m done hearing otherwise

People are parroting what they hear and just making assumptions

This is Nick Chubb. A top 1 athlete in work ethic. People thought he would never be the same guy after his injury at georgia

And honestly before you come at me with age and “but it’s the same knee!!!” Honestly just consider what I said. The most popular opinion, by far, was that Nick Chubb would never be the same player after that injury. He went after Sony Michelle in the draft!

I understand being emotional and scared about the uncertainty. I had plenty of pussy posts myself yesterday.

But it’s Nick fucking Chubb and you’re all writing him off like it’s Jed Wills who will need to rehab his knee. Heroes don’t die in the middle of the plot and Nick Chubb is gonna post his Chubb Batman signal next year

Agreed. I was wondering if I missed something specific that led to all this 'career over' talk.

The first words I was able to utter after the injury, albeit several minutes later, were about how confident I am in Nick's ability to come back from this. To the point where I feel bad for his PT.

He's not done. But it's heartbreaking nonetheless.

Same energy. It's Nick Chubb. It's 2023. He'll be back next year and he'll still be the premier RB in the league. Don't doubt the man.

Chubb's last horrific knee injury was on Oct 10 2015 while at Georgia. He returned for Georgia's 2016 Week 1 game vs. UNC and had 32 carries, 222 yards, and 2 TD

That's not me saying he'll do that again and he is of course 8 years older and has a lot more miles on him. But I'm not sure why so many people are assuming that might've been his last snap.

It's entirely fair to wonder if he'll ever be the same player again, but I 100% expect to see him again based on the current information we have.

Whatever he decides - whether he wants to come back next year, or retire - I will be 100% supportive either way. I woke up this morning almost feeling worse than how I felt last night about what happened.

It's just really really sad to see such a consistent force through years of very questionable football go down like that. Wishing him the very best in his recovery regardless of what he wants to do next.

If he is truly able to come back all the way from that injury, it won't be next season.

If I take the emotion out of it, I can't imagine this is it for Nick Chubb. We'll know more after the Orthopaedic surgeons chime in. I'm sure he'll have the best in the world reconstructing the knee (ElAttrache?). Too bad it was the same one he hurt in college, but water over the damn...

Chubb is the hardest worker in the room and will be 28 when he tries to return. His career is not over.
