The Chubb-Hub Yardage Delivery Service

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I’m not sure if this confirms torn or if badly stretched but still needing surgery

Also not sure if it matters to recovery or procedure

From what I understand, it doesn’t. For a high level athlete, the temp alternatives like shrinking your ACL aren’t options.

Badly stretched and torn are the same outcome, as the ligament doesn’t have blood supply and can’t heal on its own.

Depending on the severity of the ACL damage, the options are to leave it or repair it. Leaving it damaged would inevitably lead to a full tear down the line and another surgery/recovery/rehab.

This was the right move and the initial news of his injury was not misleading or inaccurate.

I’ve had notifications on for Chubb since the injury waiting for him to post that Damn bat signal

I can’t wait until he’s back

What was his initial injury? The good news one? And the recovery timeline?

The initial diagnosis was torn MCL, torn medial capsule and torn meniscus.

When they went in for surgery to repair those things, they determined his ACL was damaged enough to also need surgery to repair it as well.

I don't believe that second surgery specific to the ACL has taken place yet.

Adrian Peterson tore his ACL and MCL December 24th, 2011 and played in Week 1 of the following season.

Chubb himself suffered a multiple ligament tear (although not his ACL) in October of 2015 and was back playing in Week 1 of the following season as well.

Nick is obviously a maniacal rehabber, so we'll see what happens. I wouldn't rule him out for 2024 by any means, but I don't know how realistic week 1 is at this point.
