The Game (2022) | #2 Ohio State vs. #3 TTUN | November 26th, 2022 @ High Noon

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Letting him call the plays might not be a terrible idea either...especially since Ryan Day apparently sucks at it now.

I'd hate to lose him as the WR coach, but he's earned a promotion. No idea if he'd be any good at OC, though.

#1 is toughness. Which is one of the easier things to teach. They had a year to do that this year and didn’t. What makes you think they’ll figure it out by next year?
Toughness is one of the easier things to teach? Not sure I believe that. Hard to turn a soft player into a tough one.

Drills that you do that either get done or you don’t play.
Yeah, I just have the feeling that the soft guys fail the tests and don’t play. They don’t just up and get tough.

That is, you don’t TEACH toughness - you SELECT for it.

Corum done for the year.

Completely disagree. I’ve coached kids in hs who weren’t very tough and by the time they graduated absolutely were…

That’s good to hear. I tend to believe that people are who they are, and don’t change. I’m glad to hear of cases when they DO change.

With transferring of Ewers was this Day's best shot to win a title? I think with the transfer portal, NIL and the expansion of College Playoffs it is only going to get tougher to win a Chip... That is what makes this L so bone-crushing... I made a bet with a Notre Dame fan in 2019 that Day would win it all by 2024... Ugh...

I don't think so. I don't really think Day was really challenged to expand this offense. I think he was in a comfortable position with Stroud and the strengths he had on offense, that he didn't really flush out the offense. I think that was a detriment to the offense at the end of the season since they really didn't have anything to turn when things weren't working or when we had injuries to our main playmakers.

I think having to lean on different aspects of the offense during the season and just having a lot of options can help to win a championship. Alot of it is everything coming together at the end of the season and everything is clicking. Stroud is a great QB prospect but even a tier below him could have everything click with the offense to win a championship. I think Day basically gets a QB prospect good enough to win in every recruiting class.

I don't think so. Mac Jones and Stetson Bennett are not otherworldly QB talents but they were good enough to win a title. McCord may be good enough too since we have incredible talent returning at our skill positions.

Also, I want to believe Knowles can develop this defense with another year and some high-end talent returning.

Losing Ewers and Raiola sucks for sure, but we still have a solid room.

Used to love this part of the board.

Now it’s bad takes being spammed and a Michigan troll.

Sigh.

Who is the likely starting QB next season?

Is there a realistic path to the defense being much better next season?

Guys Mccord was a 5 star if I recall. Brown is a supreme talent as well. Not even factoring in the kid they’re bringing in 2023.

Think the room is much better than solid.

Mccord and Brown were both the #6 ranked QB in each of their classes. Lincoln Kienholz was the #14 ranked QB in this most recent class. He is from South Dakota so he hasnt played against other top tier talent so there are question marks of how good he is.
