We were on the brink of nuclear war and this post right here just made us bros for life
Prince, in that exact era, should be studied in college courses for his musical genius. Not just as a guitarist, as a drummer, keyboardist and composer.
My ex bought this for me for my birthday this year and I highly recommend you check it out for that exact era you’re talking about. I’m only halfway through it and my mind is blown listening to Purple Rain now that I have the context behind its inception.
Well played Miro

And Greenwood, he’s my greatest living guitarist since Prince passed.
Whenever I talk about him, I start off with Weird Fishes/Arpeggi from In Rainbows which he composed. There was a basement video recording that showed how layered that song is. Starts out with Ed as the first guitar, Thom is the second layer and then Jonny joins as the 3rd layer about 2 mins in. Together, because they’re all pretty dope, they sound like something from the Philharmonic Orchestra, but I reference this specifically because of the musicality of Greenwood throughout the video. Do you know how hard it is to play this over the top of two syncopated arpeggio progressions? It’s like watching Bron shoot 10 for 10 from half court with his eyes closed
Ok, totally off topic and I’ll move this to another thread if we keep this going.
Brilliant post
