you were talkin trash to, who won the Big East...

and Romeo can now live the life in LeBrons entourage and live off his money.

Does anybody know the status of those two? I didn't think they were that tight in HS...matter of fact in the beginning LeBron and Drew didn't even like Romeo according to what I have read.

they played together at Akron for the full 4 years. Mac knows more about this then i would, he played against them in AAU or some summertime tourneys, so he would maybe have better insight on that. Romeo kinda seems like an asshole though.

I meant LeBron and Romeo.

I knew a pretty hot white chick that used to go with Romeo in HS.

If Akron had beat MU at least one more time, they would have got in, but when you lose 2 times to the best team you play, its not gonna help your case.
James...if you'd have looked into their schedule you'd know that Akron played Nevada. That was the best team they played. And they lost by 2 points. Miami wasn't even that good of a team - they just got extremely lucky.

well, apparently the NCAA didnt see it that way, maybe it was the beloved Buckeyes hogging all the Ohio spotlight, maybe it was a lack of exposure. it could have been tons of things.

Romeo and Bron played together for two or three years, not four.

They are cool from what I know. Romeo has a baby from a black girl so not sure what that white girl is about.

Overall though Akrons schedule was still very weak. Akron only played one top 50 RPI team the whole season (which was the 2 point loss to Nevada). They had a loss to a team with an RPI rating of over 200. They also had a non-conference Strength of Schedule of 236!!!!!!

I think their lack of schedule bit them in the ass. Maybe Dambrot will make an effort to go and play at some big name schools in the next few years - you pull a few of those wins off and then you get your name thrown in the hat for bubble contention. Until they start beating some name teams (even if its just scheduling some of the better mid-major teams) they aren't going to get any respect - even from the NIT.

Akron has tried to get some people on the schedule, it's tough to do that. They also don't want to go play juggernauts at their home court as well. Not atleast with a home-home deal. But since the JAR is so small, it's hard to do that when a school like CSU can because they have a huge arena.

They had an oppurtunity to play Texas Tech but pissed it away by losing to UALR. But at the same time, there are abou t7 schools that have an RPI pf 125 or lower in the NCAA tourney...but it is also tough for a mid major to have a high RPI because of their conference. All the big schools automatically have a high RPI because of their conference play.

Yeah, but the fact is that they are going to have to go on the road and do that. If you look at Drexel this year (somehow they got snubbed and that is beyond me) they went and played at Syracuse, Villanova, and Creighton and won all 3 of those games.

Those are the types of teams that Akron should be trying to schedule if they want to seriously be considered for the tourament. I remember a couple years ago when Akron went and played at North Carolina and they played a very good game and it was close. Those are the type of games that get you recognized on the national scheme and they just didn't have one of those games this year.

It cost money to do those kind of games though too. Travel, the time spent to travel that distance etc..

I know they have to do that, but a lot of it has to do with the JAR being so small. They need to upgrade that arena if they want to play bigger basketball.
