Stuck on a plane waiting for customs to open in Newark and can't see the game but delighted to see Morocco is up. They have all of Africa and Arabia behind them. No team from either has ever made the semis.

I was gonna get on here and say Portugal's big weakness so far has been their keeper and there it is.
Or the fact that they just keep deciding not to start the best player in the world

Saw the result - thrilled for Morocco and Africa. Then I saw CR walking off without congratulating the Atlas Lions and crying his eyes out and felt even better. Bitch.

You have to be rooting for Morocco now right?

I’ve lived in England, seen the predecessor of the Premier League live and spend time there on business now so I’m pulling for them but England would be my second choice. That side of the bracket is more interesting, although Argentina-Croatia is an excellent semifinal.

Mbappe would tear the USMNT several new a**holes if we had to play them in a knockout round. He’s seriously scary.

On paper there’s no way Morocco should win another game but on grass in Qatar they have a shot.

Foolish penalty by the French. England ties it up with the PK

What in the world is that French defender thinking. Holy cow he better hope they don't lose this game because the French are known to riot a little bit over soccer matches.

Sports can be cruel. Harry Kane played so well but even the best can have a horrible moment at the worst time.

I find it hilarious that the same teams seem to never be able to get over that hump on the national stage every 4 years…

Brazil and England lead the way in choking on the massive stage despite always being a favorite to win it all.

Brazil has won more world cups than any nation ever.

Single elimination tourneys in soccer involve more luck than almost any other sport I can think of.

Brazil got very, very unlucky. Croatia had exactly one shot on goal, it went in, and it required an extremely lucky deflection for that to happen.

And yet, Croatia always seems to overperform expectations while Brazil and England embarrass themselves

How so? How does Brazil "always" embarrass themselves by winning five world cups?

Bad take. After the Ronaldo "best player in the world" take I'm wondering if I should continue to engage here.
