Fake hip and all.

Well it was a good run. Reminded me of Fed at the FO two years ago.

This AO should be Nole’s to win with Rafa and Carlos and Medvedev annd Kyrigos out but…he really is not moving well with his hamstring injury. I assume he is just playing at 85% this first week and will have to turn it up from here on out but not a slam dunk. However he knows time is running out. I assume he will win Wimby this year but would be a huge win here. At least he has only had to play 10 sets to advance.

Rune, Tsitsipas, and some others are playing well. We are near the end of the Big 3 era but there are some good young players coming up.

I am a day behind, didnt get to watch much, last match i watch was Coco who is my girl right now,....obviously, i think most American tennis fans love her.

Part of me is rooting for Nole, but I am a huge Roger fan and anyone past him is bothersome at some level, lol

Well Roger is like MJ in the sense that, no matter what Rafa and Nole do, just like with Lebron, some people will always recognize him as the greatest. And with total justification.

I’m over the GOAT convo. Once Nole caught them at 20 slams I think it’s a three way tie and now I just want to enjoy the last 2-3 years of this.

Great matches going on now. I’m up early watching Tstsipas collapse like usual. And too bad Coco lost as Iga just was upset as well. Wild tournament this year.

Edit: Stefanos didn’t choke it!

We've been enjoying the last 2-3 years of this for 4-6 years! :chuckle:

Very true!

But with Roger retired, Rafa’s hip and Novak’s hamstring, this time it really feels like it is true.

Novak does it again.

Death, Taxes, Novak at AO.

I assume he will win Wimbledon since todays players stink on grass. Can he challenge Rafa and Carlos at the French? Can he get to 400 weeks at #1?

We are getting close to this dude ending the GOAT discussion. If he hasn’t already.

Roger win his last Slam in 2018 and the count was 20/16/12 then. It’s 0/6/10 since. (Roger/Rafa/Novak). Just unbelievable from the old guys.

I think Novak ends with 25-30 slams. Insanity.

We are finally getting the Djokovic-Alcaraz matchup in a Grand Slam on Friday. Carlos is probably the slight betting favorite on clay, but Novak at a Grand Slam is hard to bet against even at age 36. Should be fun.

Not sure there are many more chances for Djokovic to beat Alcaraz at Djok being 36 and Alcaraz having his best tennis in front of him at 20.

I am not sure about the surface, I know its not Djokovic's best, but I dont know enough about Alcaraz or his game yet. But he is part of the next gen of men's tennis for sure.

Also my girl Gauf has a huge match coming up against the top seed and her 3 major titles. New generation of women are here for sure.

I would think Carlos is the favorite on clay and Novak on grass and hardcourt this year and next, but either one could win on clay or hard court. But I think Novak wins the next two Winbledon and AO if he is in form.

Friday I expect Carlos to win, as he is in great form and Novak’s game has been volatile, but, Novak is the GOAT so I wouldn’t ever bet against him in a slam. It’s too bad this isn’t the final because it is the de facto one.

Carlos is going to win a bunch of slams. The era between him and Novak is fairly weak. We don’t know about todays 15-19 year olds but as for the next two years, I think him and Novak take all the slams with the exception of 24 RG if Radfa plays.

Wow.

So Novak beats the young gun. More of a TKO than a KO as Carlos’s fitness failed him. Best of Five is a different sport than Best of Three and Alcaraz found that out today. He may have to adjust his style of play in conditions like these. Credit to Novak for making him exert himself past his limits.

Djokovic vs Ruud for the title on Sunday. Probably Novak in 3 or 4.

That Swiatek-Muchova match was a lot of fun to watch this morning. When Muchova went up 4-3 with a break in the final set, I thought she had it. Credit to Swiatek for putting her away. That is what champs do.

Novak Djokovic wins the 2023 French Open and once again destroys the Next Generation.

A record 23 grand slams.

World #1, and a record 388 weeks at 1 now

Has won all slams at least 3 times.

Defeated Carlos Alcaraz.

And he will be the favorite at Wimbledon.

Just no words for this guy. There will never be anyone better than him.

It’s over.
