How do you know?

Yeah good point. Considering how many records have fallen across sports in the last 10 years (Lebron, Brady, Novak, Judge) and how Oveckin will get Gretzky’s goals record soon, probably all of these will fall one day.

Better equipment, better training, “supplements” that are really PEDs. It’s why you can’t compare eras.

Novak was the greatest of a great era. But eventually his records will fall.

Probably to an AI-powered tennis droid.

Really solid final 8 for Wimbledon.

Alcaraz v Rune is the New Gen heavyweight fight

Medvedev v Eubanks - Russia vs USA

Sinner in a walkover

Djokovic v Rublev - prob Novak in straights but he has to play 3 days in a row because of Wimby’s dumb 11pm curfew. So maybe a glimmer of hope for Rublev?

Really want a Alcaraz vs Djokovic final, old guard vs new guard. As a 20 year old, Alcaraz really impresses me, but obviously I am not the only one.

Alcaraz is really good. Though the media narrative on him is a bit annoying. Sure he is number 1 but that is only Bcz Wimbledon didn’t give points last yet and Novak hasn’t been able to play in the US. They media is so upset that Novak has the Slam lead that you even see people now saying that stats shouldn’t be the sole GOAT determiner but should consider style, grace and influence. Um no.

But I digress, looking forward to todays matches. Eubanks having a good showing so far.

Novak's anti vax stance really hurt his image. I am pro vax, but also pro civil liberties and dont want to get political here, but I like Novak, he is very, very, very fucking good. In the end I am a fan of tennis. My favorite all time is still Agasii followed by Roger, but I have a place in my heart for any one who can win 20+ grand slams.

Well tennis always has an obsession with next Gen. And I like Alcatraz’s game but guy has 1 major. It’s a long way to go to 23.

Now, having said that, I would love to see a Novak/Carlos Final here. The FO win by Novak was very anticlimactic. Hoping for some good matches this morning.

Straight sets for Novak, not much of a match. I mean not saying Alcatraz ever gets to Novak's numbers, but i am part of the group always excited for the next group. I think Novak sets a number that stands for awhile because he is not even done.

What’s your prediction for Sunday?

Centre Court, I’m not betting against Novak, but Alcaraz is playing at a very high level. My prediction is Novak in 4 or 5, but wouldn’t be shocked if the kid did it. I’m just not sure Alcaraz has the elite serve yet to win on grass.

Novak in 4. He wins a tie breaker in 1st set, loses 2nd set, breaks him in 3rd and 4th set.

Wow the young Spaniard did it! What a match. Novak lost his first serve halfway through the second set or else I think he wins in 4. But still, crazy he can even go 5 sets against a 20 year old. I think he is the best athlete ever.

Hopefully a rematch at the US Open! With less wind!

Congrats to Alcaraz. He is going to win 10+ slams in my view. Love his game but his personality is a bit bland. Hoping a more charismatic young guy can come up.

So Roger won his last slam at age 36 (2018 AO), Rafa at 36 (2022 FO) and maybe now Novak at 36? (2023 FO)

Perhaps we have found the age limit for tennis.

I spend five hours of my Sunday watching this entire match. What an incredible battle. Alcaraz ended up looking like the better player but so many points where it could have gone differently - the second set tiebreaker, and this moment in the fifth where Djokovic missed a slam that would have given him a break point. A lot of unforced errors from Djokovic but not in a careless way, resulted from how Alcaraz was pressing him.

One of the best tennis matches I’ve ever seen.

I will say, Carlos plays a much more enjoyable game than Novak, or the original sinner of baseline power oaf tennis, Nadal. People loved Federer for the grace and brilliant point construction and Alcaraz is similar. Nadal started the brute strength grind it out tennis and Novak perfected it and broke the game for awhile. Carlos is thrilling to watch.

Really hope Novak can keep his level for 1-2 more years and we can watch them go at it.

Just seems the end of an era. Carlos has no experience on grass and seemed to almost figure it out as the tourney went on. Grass was Novak's best surface. I hope I am wrong, but Novak might have won his last tourney unless Carlos has an injury.

But what do I know, lol
