I may get one eventually, but I've soured on buying consoles at launch. I don't even own a console right now, to be honest. Well, a PS3, but I haven't turned it on in years. I sold my 360, Xbone, and PS4 because I just wasn't playing them enough to justify holding on to them.
But the Switch intrigues me both for Breath of the Wild and because I think the concept of it is cool. As someone who likes to travel, it'd be fun to be able to bring it with me easily on planes and such. I can imagine how useful it would have been on my trip to Europe last summer, as we spent a lot of time on planes and trains getting from country to country. We settled for a bluetooth speaker and stand-up comedy to entertain us on the trains, but I'd think the Switch would be a cool distraction too.
The Switch makes a lot of sense for a gamer in your situation, since you can play most of the AAA stuff (basically anything that isn't a PlayStation exclusive) on your PC. With the Switch you get Nintendo exclusives and indie stuff at home or on the go, plus a great couch co-op machine for parties.
