If we challenge that call, we win the game.

40 seconds, one point lead and the ball.

At worst, you miss, and get to defend to win on a final shot. With our defense, I like those odds.

But no, that Okoro foul was an official changing the outcome.

JBB not challenging is unacceptable and needs discussed. I hope our media team asks him about refusing to use it this i

Also found it strange none of the players seemed to make the signal asking for replay either. Usually they’re pretty vocal about that on the court. All in all this game came down to missed free throws though. Tough loss to a lousy team.

I could not see the game until 28 seconds left and they're down by 3???
What the heck happened ? Detroit isn't that good. Listening to JBB .he's pissed..,,

Did JBB even use a coaches challenge? I just don't see ruthlessness from the guy. I can't see him being part of a championship squad.

JBB either forgot or he did not trust the team's defense to stop them so he was saving his last TO for drawing up a play for a clincher bucket.

Whichever one it was, both are inexcusable coaching mistakes.

The decision to rest Garland against bad teams is a very poor one if it is one that was made, if he cant play then obviously out of our hands

neither are we with no Garland or Levert
Well let me say this..Levert hasn't been here that long, so they were beating teams without him..Garland I understand is the primary ball handler and PG.They do struggle without him. But their big men played right?
Now I don't know about the flow of the game, but these guys have to have the mindset that they are above a lot of these teams and have to handle this.

If the Garland handling is a load management issue, then it’s time to take a a hard look at what their plan is. There are zero gimmes when Garland doesn’t play. Sitting him against bad teams just opens the door wide to lose games that must be wins. The way they are playing lately, I don’t like our chances against the top contenders even when fully healthy, so I’d rather rest Garland in those.

I felt like we were headed for the play-in heading into the ASG and they unfortunately hammered that point home tonight. They are either starting to hit a collective wall as a young team or they think they’ve arrived and don’t have to play hard for 48. Either way, they are not in a good spot right now. When the coach comes out of the break and has to question the effort of his team, it’s not good.

I don't mind Cedi because he's a walking turnover, especially tonight.

I also don't mind keeping Allen because he's the best quick lob/offensive rebound threat.

Goodwin isn't the end of the world because he sparked the run. Same for Lauri.

Mobley should have sat for Love, however. Love is the superior rebounder, screen setter, and shooter.
You don't sit your franchise player like he is Westbrook.

Incredibly frustrating loss as the Cavs missed 11 free throws to 3 misses by Detroit in a 3-point loss. This is probably the third game the Cavs lost this year at the free throw line.

That 3-pointer at the end of the first quarter as time expired off one foot by Diallo came back to haunt us at the end. No excuse with 3.3 seconds left to let him get that good a look, but Stevens let him run by him for an open shot.

Even without Garland this should have been a Cavs' win if they weren't so pathetic at the free throw line.

Rondo with 6 turnovers in 26 minutes. He's in the lowest 1% of point guards in turnover percentage and we saw it again tonight. His high assist rate is negated by his high turnover rate. Goodwin made his first two 3's and missed the last five.

The Cavs did a great job against their starters. Cunningham was 4-for-16, Grant 4-for-15, Bey 1-for-7 (after scoring 31 last game), and Joseph had 6 points. But their bench murdered us, just like last game. Diallo had 21 points in 21 minutes. McGruder was 4-for-4 from deep for 12 points in 16 minutes. We just needed him to miss two of them. Bagley had 16 points on 8-for-13.

Meanwhile Love had 4 points for the Cavs. Other than Goodwin's 15 points our bench did nothing.

That foul on Okoro in the final minute was absurd. He was running away from Cade, who lost his balance and fell into him. I can't believe that wasn't challenged.

Allen had a very quiet game for an All-Star with 11 points and 8 boards in 33 minutes. A few times he got stripped or blocked when he had the ball in great position in front of the rim. I'd like to see him protect the ball better and finish stronger at the rim. It's frustrating to see him right at the rim with a much smaller man on him and either get stripped or his shot cleanly blocked.

With 28 seconds left and the Cavs down by 1 Allen got the ball in great position low on the block against a much smaller defender. But he lost his balance and fell down without being touched and had to throw the ball at the rim. It looked like he was trying to back his defender down and the guy stepped aside and let Allen fall down. Allen should have taken his time and got off a good shot instead of rushing it.

Great to see Lauri back. It took him until the 4th quarter to find his 3-point shot so hopefully he'll get it going sooner.

No Sexton, no Garland, no Rubio, no LeVert - all injured. Damn. We're down to Rondo and Goodwin at PG; one a washed up 35-year-old and the other a G-League guy. We still should have won with any kind of decent game by Love and halfway decent free throw shooting. And not letting Detroit get an open 3-pointer with 3.3 seconds to shoot and having to go the length of the court.
