Trade Deadline Day - 2020

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No more allen, hope he figures it out. seems like a good guy, but just couldn't produce
I can already feel the angst from the IBI guys as to who the PTBNL will be from our side....

So, the team is in first place, but decided to be sellers at the deadline? Maybe more to come...

I’m not sure how taking Owen Wilson and Arias, two low top ten short stops, makes absolutely it rly any sense whatso ever.

That gives us what, 4-5, in our top 20? All of which project almost identical.

My initial take is that this is a shopping list of guys the Tribe has liked for quite a while...no "headliner", but a Tribe-like basket of joy. Interesting to see how it shakes out.

Early word seems Indians got owned in this trade?

Someone sell me on this. We didn't get any of their prospects in the mlb top 100. Naylor seems okay? Don't you usually get a mlb top 25 prospect when you trade a top pitcher? Did we just flip a dollar for 3 quarters? How did we not get Abrams?

We got fleeced... no top 100 prospect for top 15 player. Bs. We will lose guys in Rule 5 already

At first blush, a huge return for Clevinger but need our forum’s prospect analysts to weigh in.
Comment from San Diego’s East Village Times baseball forum.

The players I would use in a trade would be mostly prospects that are blocked at the big league level. Any of the middle infield prospects not named Abrams should be available. Fernando Tatis Jr. and Jake Cronenworth are blocking several prospects, not to mention Jurickson Profar and Ty France aren’t likely to see any regular playing time at second base. Josh Naylor and Edward Oliveras aren’t being used in left field and should be available. It’s hard to see a path for Ryan Weathers and Joey Cantillo to get to the MLB team in the next few years. Although a lefty throwing 97 mph isn’t someone you trade away unless you really have to or need to.

Jason Freund(@jasonfreund_):

Perhaps Cantillo is the key? Check out his eye-popping stats from last season. Harris had some nice stats last year too.

Quantrill was a former 8th overall pick and was pretty damn good last year as a starter.

Naylor is obviously a pretty good player too, although not the level of player like Reyes last year.

Arias is a truly big prospect but not close and a little free swinging.
