Traded: Javale McGee

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah I thought maybe 2 2nds or a youngish player, but I didn't expect both. With the 2nd they got to take on McGee and the leadership the guys said he helped them with, we pretty much got max value from McGee.

He will be good for Denver. They need a change of pace Center like him

The best part is if we keep the 2027 2nd round pick, we will all say where did we get this 2nd round pick and be reminded the time Javale was once a Cav.

It will be the gift that keeps giving.

Why do we always get really really future 2nd round picks? couldn't we get a 2nd in this years draft?

WE will never see that pick. I hope it gets turned into a player long before it vests

Too much value. We actually got a player with some value back for McGee. The 2nd round picks have to be as valueless as possible since Koby probably insisted on them and Denver wanted to get the trade done.

The trade straight up really works value wise as Hartensein is signed for 1.8 next year so gives us 1.5 years with him and basically league min and see if he can develop as a 7'1 big with range.

If we wanted this year's 2nd, no way we get a useful player on a cheap contract.

I guess.

Hartenstein is really active. I really want to watch him already. Dude is an energizer and surprisngly athletic. He is not as good as Javale, but no one is as good as Javale.

Loved that dude.

Honestly, I'm just hoping to still be around if/when the pick conveys.. :chuckle:

Don't tell Ohioplayer00 this. He's standing on top of a bridge as we speak.
LMFAOOOOOOO!!! Yep as we speak I’m on the edge! I just have a problem with acquiring players that “might” turn out to be a good player. When you’re rebuilding you’re supposed to bring in players that you know can contribute and be part of the core you’re trying to build! Like another poster said I’m a “grumpy old man” ;)

Nobody is offering up those kinds of players for McGee.

The fact that we got anyone who even has a chance to be an NBA rotation player is a huge win as far as I'm concerned.

That is a dumb statement. No one gives up those kind of players for a McGee. Try harder

Not grumpy, just unrealistic. Draft picks are almost never sure things. There’s been a lot of crap taken at #1. Sure, we’d love to acquire proven players but we don’t have the cap space or market attractiveness to get those types of players in free agency; to get those players in a trade you need to give up assets or cap space; and drafts as I said are never sure things.

When your “assets” are injured old expensive multi-year Love, rental expensive Drummond, poor shooting Cedi, poor shooting Prince and Boy Windler — you haven’t got a lot to sell out of the truck. We sold our most valuable asset we were willing to part with - McGee - and his value wasn’t that high.
