Brian Billick really pissed me off on Mike & Mike this morning.
"The Browns are 5-3 and I'm not sure how they're doing it besides play action rollouts to wide open receivers." So... Our receivers gaining separation counts for nothing? He sounded a bit misinformed.
The problem is, this team has an identity that they need to get back to and that's a vicious running attack.
Second of all, our secondary minus Skrine has done a 180 of late and salvaged themselves.
Third, we don't turn the ball over.
I like the team as it's currently constructed. What people fail to realize is that without Cameron we have zero red zone threats. Without a bigger target, we need to rely on big plays and solid running to score touchdowns right now (we are only doing one of those on occasion). Austin may be the closest thing to it. Cameron and Gordon really open up the playbook so I'm excited to see this offense at full tilt (minus Mack) with them back. I think we will see a lot of different looks.
