Because you eliminate just about any mathematical chance for them to come back by just kneeling down and getting the win. Run it in and make your defense come back on the field and potentially risk an injury, or run out at the 1 and eliminate all doubt.

Not the sexy stat for fantasy football or for his own personal stat line, but I’m sure he’s happier with the W, as we all are.

Incredibly unlikely but two onside kick recoveries, one for a TD and one for a FG, that's a tie game. And theoretically it could happen in the minute leftover. This is a 100% guaranteed game winner. It doesn't appease to the bettors and fantasy players. But it's a greater good move by Chubb.

Another benefit is what Tlyons said. No injury risk if we don't have to continue playing.
