Is it still the best OL in the league if you are minus your 2 starting tackles?
I'm sorry was Jack Conklin out the whole fucking game???

My concern with Baker, which was echoed in here...
You have the best O-Lline and RB duo, probably in the league and he's just not making those big throws and plays you need him to make in the biggest moments.
You absolutely nailed the truth with this post, good job Tip.This. The impact of that is being massively underestimated. Normally, you'd send out 5 guys to catch passes when you're down and need that final score. People are used to seeing that, and so are wondering why Baker wasn't zinging the ball around and getting at least 10-15 yards a pop to whomever is open underneath. The problem is that the OT's couldn't be left on an island because they sucked. So we had to keep guys in to try to provide some protection, which meant that they could pretty much double-cover everyone who went out.
So Baker faced the exact opposite situation as did Hebert. Hebert's pass catchers were running wild because our top 2 CB's were out, and Greedy was hurt. Baker's pass-catchers couldn't get open because the OT situation meant guys had to be kept in for protection, and so our receivers were blanketed.
He was out for those series of downs in crunch time that everyone is bitching about.I'm sorry was Jack Conklin out the whole fucking game???
So the counter to that is to run a halfback draw when you’re deep in your own territory and the opponent has a red hot QB, two timeouts and the two minute warning after your defense had just given up 40?The Cleveland Browns in five games this season when faced with 3rd or 4th down and 5+ to gain are just 9-37 (24.3%).
When the defense knows the Browns have to pass, the Browns have really struggled significantly.
I'm going to need "replacement level QB" defined here before I respondI’m struggling to think of any plays he made that any other replacement level QB could not make. I’ve seen him make these throws in the past — have not seen them the last 2 weeks.
I get all this but With 1.30 left in the game they had no choice but to push the ball down the field. For better or worse It was the only chance to pull out the game.This. That was the game right there. We win that game if not for that fucking bullshit call.4th and 10 perfectyl defended and the bullshit pass interference penalty...one of the worst calls I've ever seen.
Rich is in here nailing it on all fronts. No matter who the QB is that should have been viewed as a do or die drive to END the game. Honestly I considered it 4 down territory. 3rd and 10 draw followed by a punt given everything leading up to that point felt like forfeitingSports Fandom is so tiring.
People pick their narrative and that's it. O matter what happens.
This board still is loaded with OBJ defenders. There's no lack of production that will change that.
No mountain of evidence that will sway their opinion.
So here we have a drive to seal the game wherein KS leaves the best offensive player on the team on the bench, throws on 2nd and 10 but not on 3rd and 9, and puts the game in the hands of the defense, up 1, when they hadn't stopped a soul all day.
And there was still the 2 minute warning and the chargers has Timeouts.
And in the face of all of that, we get "well KS doesn't trust Baker!"
No shit, but that could have been DeShone Kizer back there and you have only one option on 3rd and 10.
Not to mentioned Gillian has shit the bed on punting for a while now. That last punt was what? around 40 of the chargers? Lol.Rich is in here nailing it on all fronts.
