Welcome Ochai Agbaji from the future

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Guy is 6’5” with a 6’10” wingspan and has guarded every position on the floor like Scottie Barnes did at FSU makes him intriguing . Unlike Okoro , Agbaji doesn’t need a couple years to develop his shot . Love Eason but this guy fills an immediate need even though he is really old at 21 lol. I’m never for drafting need in any Sport but this guy checks all the boxes the Cavz FO desires in a prospect. My guess is Abaji is the player the FO wants if they keep the pick at 14

Scottie Barnes seems to be a really bad parallel to draw for more reasons than I want to get into.

I think the Cavs would take him at 14, but I can’t imagine he’s anywhere near their top prospect. He’s actually a full year older than Okoro as well. I’m not really a fan of Okoro, but if my choice was giving Okoro 1 more year to develop and drafting someone else at #14 or drafting Ochai, I’m taking option A.

With where the Cavs currently are and where they’re likely to be drafting, they’re better off taking a guy that is more of a boom/bust type player in hopes he hits the higher ceiling.

Looks like the title should be changed to:

“Friend zone busting specialist”

The comparison was defensively as both were used by their respective college teams to guard multiple positions. Agbaji has had to at times guard 4”s and 5”s . That type of defensive versatility makes the comparison valid. Fits right in with what Mobley has to do here.

Watching these playoffs games tonight, I be able to be sold on my man now, if his 3point jumper is as advertised, that’s definitely needed in the playoffs……And this Team

I'm in the Agbaji bandwagon right now. We need a 3&D next to Garland. Thoughts?

Mixed thoughts on Agbaji. Character-wise he’s a perfect fit for the Cavs and even said he would love to play here. He’s a plus athlete with a plus wingspan and, although I think he’s primarily a SG, his length gives him the option of playing some SF as well. Has come a long ways as a shooter.

My only question with him is he’s already 22 and I wonder how much more he can grow as a player? The case for taking him is Dillon Brooks and Desmond Bane in Memphis. Both were older prospects and both have turned into very nice players in the NBA.

I could definitely be talked into Agbaji, especially if we could get either Dalen Terry or a SF with some length at #39.

He never said this. It all started with a fake quote that was run with.
Fake quote? Didn’t he say around the time of the tourney that he could see himself playing on a team like the Cavs? Are you saying that was made up?

Regardless, Agbaji is the kind is unassuming grinder and team player that the Cavs tend to like.

The quote cane from a reddit thread that quoted the twitter user @thenbapacific. They have a robust 88 followers and joined Twitter in March 2022. IF he said it, it wasn't recorded anywhere else in the world. Your points about Ochai may be true, but that quote isn't.

He is very near the bottom of my list. One of the posters on here broke it down, but 3 and D players from Kansas in the Bill Self era (of which there are 4 or 5), are historically underwhelming in the NBA, and 2 are massive busts.

Big time pass
