I agree on all points. Felton needs to learn that sometimes it's best to just plant and go vertical as quickly as he can and get the most yards possible especially when the first down marker is staring him in the face. He tries to break every touch into a long gainer which sometimes causes him to stop and juke when he should just plant and go.I agree with you. On replay, it looked like Felton could've gotten the first if he kept running towards the sideline instead of trying to juke back upfield.
I also think that it was just a good play by the defender.
If the defender didn't stop and plant and match Felton, we're all oohing and aahing over Felton's agility and change of direction even more, talking about how easily he made that guy miss.
Defenders will adjust to a guy who stops and jukes as his go-to move. Take a lesson from Chubb and hit the seam hard sometimes, which in turn will set it up the next time he does stop and juke.
And on the punt returns, the guys who usually break the long ones are the ones who hit a seam hard, run through an arm tackle or 2 straight to the house. It's okay for him to juke the first guy but after that he needs to find a seam and run through it.
He's got excellent potential if he adapts to what the pro game gives him.
