Me on the Cavs summer league sideline the next time Okoro lets Stevens or Thomas bring the ball up as he's standing in the corner

One of my all time favorite big men, right behind Hakeem...and what a great coach

You're feeling extra "frisky" in this thread tonight @Lee

We can always count on a good 2-3 strokes/jokes from you before the thread can go wash itself off and get back on topic, but you've obviously taken a pill before jumping in here this evening.

I'll make a beer run and let you have fun in here for a few more strokes/jokes.

Wear yourself out, buddy :chuckle:

What the hell is going on in this to thread. I thought the discussion was Okoro but all is see is dick jokes.

I’d like to see more of Okoro being able to penetrate from the top of the key. I’ve seen him do it but I want to see more aggression. Either 2 man game with him and Mobley or Kabengele. Also have Mobley with ball at top of key and having Okoro come around where Mobley can make the decision to give ball to Okoro or Mobley to go to the hoop.

Both of these are my goals for this evening as well. Good call @J_J

Jalen Suggs had one of the best all-around summer league games in his debut over GSW and I want to see Okoro impact the game the way Suggs did a few days ago. I expect to see the two #5 picks matched up, and I want to see more aggression on both sides from IO as well as more decisiveness/assertiveness in playmaking in the two man game as you mentioned.

I also expect Mobley to be matched up with Wagner. Who out of the box at Ann Arbor has better mobility and defensive tools than Sengun, but I want to see more decisiveness and assertiveness from Mobley as well.

From my understanding, this will be Okoro's last game in the SL as the Cavs scheduled him to play just the first 2 games. Hope he has a good one but even then, I like how he has looked so far.

Agreed. Glad he is getting footage against Green/Christopher and Suggs, Anthony, Hampton as opposed to random G Leaguers

He should look good in SL….but he hasn’t shown me anything that says he’s ready to man the SG spot on this team and he’s definitely not able to handle the SF spot. Okoro is what he is….a good all around rotational player.

I dont think that's all he is.

I think for this season, we can/should expect a median somewhere between his best game output as SG (30pt Phoenix double overtime) and his floor he showed last year between SF/SG. At the very least, we expect to see him on the ball initiating in lineups that make him 2nd or 3rd option much more than in the corner waiting as 4th/5th option.

Agreed. My expectation for Okoro this year is something along the lines of 15/4/3.5 while adding 1.5 steals a game.

Regardless of his role Okoro definitely needs to improve on his rebounding numbers too. The bigs Mobley and Allen don't project as great rebounders so Okoro hopefully can contribute on the boards.

I think the role actually plays a big impact on rebounding numbers, but I agree with you. I want him in a role where his impacting the glass more next season.

I expect those numbers to improve if he's not relegated to corner spot-up/standstill duty on offense and primary perimeter defender. Adversely, I would expect Mobley's rebounding numbers NOT to be overwhelming if we are asking him to pick and pop/roll and not muck up with paint.

I believe the guys he plays most with in lineups will impact those numbers again. If Garland and Sexton show stronger on the ball defense and ability to stick to their men on the perimeter, we will see Okoro crash more. If Mobley shows perimeter game on offense and is capable of switching/showing on the perimeter on D, we'll see Okoro crash the glass with Allen on that end more.

Yeah rebounding was the thing we never worried about with TT and Love. I am hate seeing guys lose possessions from poor effort on the boards

First thing is these young kids don’t even know how to block out! All game long a shot goes and these kids NEVER put a body on their man
