Dorsey hasn't done that much to change how Newton plays. I'm not too impressed with the last guy on their ladder. Shula is a pro, though. I'd be happy to add him as OC.
Panthers fans DESPISE Shula, I'd imagine @Jack Brickman has heard similar thoughts on how inept an offense he ran with the Panthers.Dorsey hasn't done that much to change how Newton plays. Just two short years ago the Panthers went 15-1 with the No. 1 scoring offense in the NFL.
Darrell Bevell was with the Packers from 2000-2005 as a Asst. QB Coach and QB Coach in the Dorsey era.
For what it's worth.
Bringing him in as QB coach or Offensive Asstistant along with Ryan would be a solid hire.
Ryan being hired would be such a good sign.
1. That the FO has enough power with Haslam to make sure a true OC type is brought on
And/or
2. Hue is genuinely willing to bring in a strong OC and let him call the plays
3. That even after an 0-16 season, the strong hirings in the FO and the huge outlay of draft capital and cap space have made the Browns a viable situation for respected execs and coaches. That would then *hopefully* trickle down to the FA market.
Is Ryan a legitimate candidate to take over as interim head coach if the Browns consider canning Hue during the season?
Yes.
