I would settle for LeBron
King is fond of Lopez and says the team is not looking to deal him. But he also acknowledged the need to scrounge up some draft picks after sending so many to Boston. “We are not shopping Brook Lopez,” King told Grantland last week. “Our goal is to get Brook as healthy as possible. But if deals present themselves, we’ve got to look at them. If we can get draft picks back at some point, that would help.”
that's a quote from February. i would certainly call the Nets about Lopez...getting him would be a home run imo
I'm not so sure Lopez is the right choice. Bynum was an atrocious fit on this team, and while Lopez is certainly better than the broken-down version of Bynum we had, I'm not sure he's different enough in his style of play that he would be a good fit for us at center. And if we're locking into 32M over the next two years for an injury-prone center, we better be sure he'll be a perfect fit and produce at an elite level for us. I don't have that kind of confidence in Brook...this is the kind of move that could destroy our entire rebuild if it goes badly.
Step one win the lotto.
Step two....
Step three profit.
Seriously though, I believe a trade of the number one pick with an extension for Love or Gasol would be our best move.
Irving
Waiters
?
Love
Zeller
Irving
Waiters
?
Bennett
Gasol
That makes us a much better proposition for LeBron. I was going to say free agents, but we all k ow it comes down to LeBron.
Gasol would be my personal top target. He is the perfect player to play with Irving imo.
