Can handle the ball unless you force him to go left. And he apparently had a terrible workout with the team. I liked Eason but reports indicated he was never going to be the pick. AJ Griffin was the player we missed on. Projected top 6 or 7 pick. Fell to 14 and we took a senior. Sadness.

One thing with Griffin is I never considered he would drop to us so I never spent any time looking at his highlights. I wonder if that was the case with the Cavs, they just assumed he would be gone and didn't do their research on him so they were uncomfortable taking the swing.

From Fedor about Griffin

No playmaking highlights on this video. I think he is an athletic wing that plays good D and can slash

I'm torn on whether he's the next Thunder Dan Majerle or Kurt Rambis. That mullet almost makes him look faster than he really is. I'm certain they took him just to please us fans.

If they wanted to please the fans, they shouldn’t have taken a developmental stash center at 39 with better SF’s on the board.

Do you know anything about him? Only scouting report I read said he's a Point Forward and his stats are weird and I couldn't find 3 point percentage anywhere.
He is a big guard, basically a knock off Giddey. He doesnt shoot the three well but his form isnt terrible

I think the defense in the NBL gets underrated internationally, I remember during the lockout year there was a heap of hype around Patty Mills going to dominate the NBL and he kinda struggled scoring efficiently

In terms of the first round only, I'm okay with it. What I think is hard to digest is swinging for Dieng then reverting to a much safer pick. Altman said in the presser something like "we were only one game away from the playoffs," so that speaks to looking for the perfect cog, the best proven quality you can get at #14. Dieng would have been all potential; I don't see how he would make much impact this year. I mean, Dieng can't shoot, so he's wouldn't be a SF in the Lauri mold. I assume we would've brought him off the bench at the 4, but maybe the 3 with a very different look. IDK.

But Dieng disappears, so we pick Agbaji. He does fit right in as a 3-and-D who'll be a plus catch-and-shoot guy, which we desperately need. But it looks like Altman didn't know what he wanted out of this draft, or that he just had two wildly different scenarios in his head. Is Dieng that good? I don't know.

As for who we passed on, meh. I was most interested in Branham among the rest but his shooting is a much bigger question mark than Agbaji. Griffin's knee: nope. Eason had a bad workout and to me he was just Okoro but taller (in terms of quality). Unproven shooter from 3pt. If you don't think Agbaji can keep improving because he's 22, why think Eason will? I like Terry but not for us, not at #14. He's not a shooter.

In terms of finding a SF, it would've had to have been Eason at #14, right? What were the other legit options there?

While I won't disagree the Cavaliers lost last night as my snap reaction. How does this dude have a job? He calls Ochai a good player but says he doesn't fit because he's a big and we have Mobley and Allen.

So Adajabi is a big man at 6’5? Strange
